FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$50 an hour or $30 a half hour lesson.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I get a feel for who they are. What negative and positive associations they carry with water and swimming. What they desire to accomplish. What holds them back. I get them in the water. I have them show me anything they want or ask them to show me things. I see them. I tell them what I can offer them and what they are capable of. We think about it a little. Then we make a short term or long term plan. Then- we get to work and the magic happens.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a learner and a teacher in many different schools of thought in the world of aquatics. I've been in structured programs and experienced free form teaching based on my intuition and in play. I have learned to blend the experiences I had with the structured form of teaching: American Red Cross, various private swim schools, local community pools and programs in northern California and Utah, and mostly just by pure experience and a lot of reflection, writing, and research to process my vision of how it all works. I am fully confident in my understanding of the things I've figured out and I'm fueled by a never ending curiosity to learn more and to perfect my art even more. I've read and listened to and watched a lot of experts in this field online and in person. I love to gain new insights and to see how the work they are doing might be able to benefit me by expanding my approach and understanding. I LOVE talking to people who really know what they are doing and are fully in their passion and are lit by the light of discovery.
