Max is a great piano teacher, especially if you want to focus on music theory. I've been taking lessons with him for a few months and already have learned a lot about playing music and jazz in general, in addition to specific piano mechanics. He has also been quite responsive and flexible with me when I've needed to reschedule lessons. Overall, would definitely recommend to any piano student.

Max has been an excellent tutor. He tailors each session to fit exactly my skill level and I feel I get a lot out of each lesson. The course material is centered around jazz piano, which I've enjoyed. I'd recommend him to anyone interested in well-priced, professional piano lessons.

Nicole's lessons are the best! She has a huge piano that's great for lessons and is flexible with scheduling. With Nicole's lessons I feel that I am making a lot of technical progress each week, but am also enjoying playing more and more. She's a more than qualified muscician, but more importantly an equally talented teacher.

Taking lessons under Treyan, I have seen my piano skills and theoretical understanding improve already more from being with him for now 4 months versus my years and years of piano lessons growing up. He is knowledgable in all genres, and does a really good job of helping me understand not only the how, but the why behind chords resolve, are altered, or chord progressions follow a specific pattern. Worth every penny without a doubt.

Kyle gets along great with my 8 year old. He is quick to respond if I have questions and he is flexible if we need to change our lesson time. My 8 year old has been with Kyle for a few months and has learned a lot. They have lessons online and I was surprised to see how well they work. I was nervous about online lessons but since Kyle gave us a free lesson to see how it went, I am glad we gave it a try. I am more than happy with our decision to go with Kyle for piano lessons.

I found Leslie while searching for piano teachers near our home. One of the main reasons I chose her was because she was open to my staying for the lessons. And, she had an impressive history of teaching music to school age children as well. My 10-year son has had such a good experience learning piano with Leslie over the last month that I decided to enroll my 8-year old daughter in lessons as well. Neither of my children have prior musical training, but they are learning quickly and thoroughly enjoy going to their lessons. Leslie is great with them -- very patient and encouraging. I'm thrilled we were able to find her through Thumbtack!

I have feel enormously privileged to be taught by someone as passionate and talented as Treyan. My piano skills and understanding in the 6 months that I have been currently working with him have increased to levels I would not have thought I was capable of in such a short amount of time. Treyan has an inordinate amount of patience along with a welcoming teaching climate that encourages creativity, critical thinking about pieces, and a passion for playing the piano.
The method in which he teaches is unorthodox to how I would think traditional piano teaching would be carried out, but I believe it makes it that much more effective. I feel I have an understanding of how music theory and writing works to a level that is beyond what I what get with traditional instruction. I look forward to every lesson - Indeed, they tend to be one of the highlights of my week.
I can't stress enough how highly I would recommend Treyan if you are serious about learning not only how to play the piano, but understand and have passion for it. I worried when I first started seeking piano lessons from teachers that I would burn out in the first couple of weeks or months, but I feel as excited as ever to walk through the doors, and have Treyan guide, teach, and walk me through a new lesson every week.

Taking piano lessons again as an adult was a little daunting at first but in just a few weeks Kevin has helped me become a more competent and confident piano player. He is extremely patient and is always thinking of new ways to challenge his students. He has even provided me with sheet music and books that range from classical to pop music which has kept me excited about playing. Young or old, I highly recommend Kevin!!

My seven year old has been taking online piano lessons with Kyle for about a month. She's really enjoying the lessons. She wasn't too interested in learning piano before we started and to be honest she still isn't overenthusiastic about piano but she is about Kyle and his lessons. She is always excited on Thursdays because she gets to have her lesson with Kyle.
Kyle and I have talked about how much she should be practicing and so far he has a simple and effective approach. It is mainly do not push too much, too soon. He is more focused on instilling a lifetime of musical enjoyment rather than making as much progress as possible in a short amount of time. He said, "if we push her to practice too much, too soon, then her current indifference towards piano will build into a progress halting hatred." I have to agree with him on that. I had clarinet lessons
as a kid and was pushed too fast and eventually it became a chore for me and I despised it. I am sure many other adults have experienced something similar in their youth.
For now, she goes and plays through her song when she feels like it without any pressure from me or my husband to practice. Kyle's plan is to let her do this for the first six months and then we have her start practicing 5 or 6 days a week for 5 or so minutes per day. Then we gradually start to increase the practice time as her music gets more complicated.
Kyle also says that listening to music, any kind of music that she enjoys, is the most important thing. If she develops a natural love for music, then there will be much more motivation for learning and practicing an instrument
Like I mentioned at the beginning of this essay (lol), is that it has only been a month but Kyle has been very impressive and I am glad we found a teacher like him.

I have had an amazing experience taking lessons from Treyan. I am an adult student, who knew next to nothing about piano when I started. Treyan did, and continues to do, an amazing job at listening to what my interests are, and then completely tailoring his lessons to my interests and goals.
I was interested in Treyan as a teacher after chatting with him because of the creative, flexible, and improvistational way he teaches his students to play. He has a strong core system to ensure you learn the important theory, chords, and scales, while also combining an intuitive rhythm method for learning songs.
I have been taking lessons for six months, and am astounded by not only how quickly I am learning, but how much I am enjoying the process. Best of all, Treyan is extremely responsive and diligent in his prep before and after lessons. I've had him send me instructional videos on the weekends, print and notate music for me, and listen/find songs that he thinks I would be interested in.
If you can't tell already from my review, I would highly recommend Treyan for any age student who is interested in learning and growing as a piano player.

Treyan is a fantastic teacher. He goes above and beyond for his students. I started taking lessons again after a many years long hiatus. I came in as an intermediate-level piano player. and Treyan has helped me step up my game with theory, improvisation and composing.
Treyan has a unique approach that was exactly what I was looking for. I had had enough of classical training and wanted to understand more about putting theory into practice. And that is Treyan’s speciality.

I've been so impressed with Erica! I've been taking lessons for many months and not disappointed. She's extremely knowledgeable about her craft: she's an excellent teacher and has a deep understanding of the theory and history of piano.
Her approach is respectful, non-judgmental, and she's simply a genuinely nice person. If she can teach me -- extremely distractable, and with I only have a low/medium amount of natural ability -- I'm sure she can teach you.
