Don't bother looking for other movers. The Movers 123 are AWESOME.

Kingsley came out same day for the estimate; he was on time and was extremely thorough. You can tell he knows what he is doing.

Day of, the guys came right as scheduled and were ready to go. I loved them from the start, they were clean cut and I had no worries about them in my home.

The guys were great and fun. They were friendly enough where it wasn't weird at all and made me feel at ease right away. We chatted it up and had fun while working - but never enough where it slowed us down. Best combo.

Kingsley pointed out that one of my children’s IKEA beds were put together incorrectly and made sure to fix it when he reassembled it at my new place. I appreciated how all of my items (my cheap ones and pricey ones) were all treated with the upmost care. Totally fair price, these guys worked their butts off. Loved them so much I had to go buy them donuts and drinks and beg them to take a break. They will always be my go to movers!

They cleaned up my apartment when we were moving out and they did a good enough job except in the kitchen but that was somewhat our fault.

If you, like me, are moving by yourself, you'll especially love the no-hassle experience Right Track Moving and Storage offers. My Right Track team was fantastic. They showed up right on time, and they were eager to get started. Even though the path to my door was icy, they didn't complain--just stepped carefully. When I offered to buy road salt, they let me know that might ruin my floors. They said they'd be fine without it. They hooked up my washer and dryer for me, and told me how to address an issue with my washer's hookups. They even cleaned up the mess made by the leak. The respect and friendliness my Right Track team showed me really made my day, and I appreciate all their hard work.

I hired New Concept to move me to a new apartment. They did an excellent job! They were fast, professional, and friendly. Nothing was damaged. They disassembled a few pieces of furniture and reassembled it in my new place. There was a delay getting into my new place due to the apartment owners and New Concept kept my household goods overnight and brought it back at the time I chose. Very pleased with this company and would hire them again if I ever move again. I would recommend them to anyone that needs help moving. 👍

We have moved many times, and working with Reggie and his team has definitely been the best moving experience we’ve ever had. They worked nonstop all day, and took time to place my furniture right where I wanted it, often even moving it around a few times until it was to my liking. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was to my satisfaction, even replacing screws in a storage chest lid that was broken by other movers a few years ago. They are kind and cheerful, and it was a pleasure having them in my home. I highly recommend them!

Curtis had a very quick response time, and was also affordable. He was very in depth with the Home Inspecrion, and Meth, Mold and Radon testing. He sent me a detailed report with a lot of pictures documenting everything he came across in the home. I would reccomend using Curtis (Lava Construction) to anyone and everyone.

We rented a moving and it wasn’t big enough for all of our things. The two movers from Checklist took the time to neatly and gently pack everything and make it work. It was 100 degrees outside and they continued to work diligently. They were Awesome and affordable.

I hired Austin and his crew to move our 2 story 3 bedroom house from west valley to south Jordan. I was amazing at how efficient they were at moving our large furniture out and into our new house. They also went above and beyond what was originally asked of them by taking our left over trash to the dump for us as well as the professionalism they had while at our home. Thanks again guys you were great!

MILITARY MOVE: I would not hesitate to tell any military family to book with Rose. She will handle you with respect, she understands the DITY move and all requirements. I felt from the start our family was in good hands. We had a full pack move and this company delivered the service. GREAT NATION moving and storage moved my belongings to North Carolina and did a wonderful job. Their attention to detail is impeccable and all of my furniture and other items got to my new home in perfect condition. Everything was not only packed with the utmost care, but with tremendous efficiency so that unpacking everything was a breeze. It was placed carefully and methodically and everything was wrapped and protected extremely well. Moving halfway across the country is daunting enough without worrying about your possessions getting damaged or lost and they did more than an amazing job! I would 110% recommend them to anyone in that area. Not only are they very professional, they are organized and efficient. They truly care about you and your personal property and getting it where it needs to be.

Connor helped us to unload the moving boxes and furniture of a one-bedroom apartment. He carried and put our stuff carefully and finished the job in around 3.5 hours. We think that he was doing a good job and the charge is relatively low compared to other movers.

Scott and Tony were great! They worked hard and were very professional. They were a little late but called beforehand to let us know. The quote given (by Marisa in the office) was accurate and there were no hidden charges or up-charges when the men came. The men made the adjustmentment for their being a little late with no charge to me. We very much appreciated their help with our move and I would highly recommended them.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What do moving companies do?

Moving companies provide a range of services to help you physically move out of one residence and move into a new place. But moving companies can do so much more than just haul your belongings across town in a truck. The national average for moving company prices ($250-$350 per hour) reflects the range of services provided. Here are examples of all the ways moving companies can help:

    • Packing: Moving companies can pack your belongings for you. They typically charge a flat rate for both the box and the labor to pack the box. The more time-consuming the belongings are to pack, the higher the cost per box. For example, books could be $5 per box, linens $10 per box, and fine china and glassware $18 per box.
    • Specialty moving: Safely move a baby grand piano, a oversize aquarium, or other specialty items with the help of pro movers.
    • Storage: Many moving companies can store your belongings while you wait for a new home to be remodeled or closing of your new home to be finalized. If you’re moving long-distance, they often provide short-term storage free for a specific length of time, and a set rate after that (such as $60 per square cubic foot of storage space used).
    • Long-distance moves: No need to rent a trailer and move your things; a long-distance moving company can haul your belongings across the country for you. Typically they charge by the cubic foot for moves, with prices based on your destination.
    • Unpacking: Moving companies can even unpack your belongings for you after they have moved them. This is not as common, and will definitely increase the price, but can be helpful if you’re not able to tackle this task yourself.

How much does a moving company charge per hour?

When you’re ready to make a major move, it’s time to research moving companies’ prices. A moving company may charge on average anywhere between $25 and $100 per hour, per worker, for moving services. The price will vary with regional labor rates, local cost to do business, and the level of service the movers are providing. Nationally, the average hourly rate for a moving company is $250-$350 per hour. This price includes a range of pricing, from all-in service with four or more movers on site to standard hourly rates for one or two movers. Other factors that affect moving companies’ prices are packing, stairs (or elevators), and distance. For a full-service move, you pay movers to pack your belongings for you. You may pay for the cost of the moving boxes and an hourly rate per worker, and there may be additional charges for packing fragile items. Stairs will also add to your moving prices. Lifting and carrying boxes and furniture up and down stairs takes more time and creates more physical labor for the workers. Moving companies may charge flat rates for flights of stairs, such as $50-$70 per flight. A moving company may also charge a one-time fee for moving things via elevator, such as $75-$100. If parking is not accessible in front of your home or apartment building, there may also be an additional fee for the added distance to carry your belongings to the truck.

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
