Alvin Smithson is a very gifted classically trained musician. Accomplished in all aspects of piano performance and instruction. He is a leader in the theater community and composer of solo piano and orchestral music in contemporary and classical styles. A very genuine and sincere person, willing to dialogue on music topics with everyone at any level. Alvin is also an expert on tuning and maintenance of pianos. You cannot find anyone more knowledgeable, careful, and trustworthy to tune your piano. His rates are very reasonable. 5 Stars!
Stevie was absolutely wonderful. I decided very last minute to hire a solo artist for the cocktail hour at my wedding. Stevie was always responsive to my inquiries and did such an amazing job during the cocktail hour. I would highly recommend him. Thank you!!!!
AMAZING....Brooksley is not only a talented musician, but the sweetest and most professional to work with. Throughout our entire process of planning our cape may, nj wedding she was an added bonus- providing her huge song selection and expertise in assisting us right down to the final selections. I swore I would not cry on the wedding day, I even chose every song & was prepared. However, her beautiful violin brought me, the bride, to tears as she played a very special song choice for the walk down the isle with my father. My husband and I cannot thank Brooksley enough for taking part in our wedding ceremony & cocktail hour! Thank you, thank you, thank you Brooksley!!!!
There isn't a better musician to work with than Mark. Quite possibly the best that I've ever seen on every level imaginable. We only had him for the ceremony and the cocktail hour but his music was one of the biggest highlights and most talked about things of the night.
Don knows his stuff, he's easy to get along with and overall a really nice guy. He has an impressive repertoire of musical skills and a lifetime of experience in music to draw from. As far as instruments he can play a little bit of everything, he can basically teach you any instrument you'd find in a regular rock band, folk, country, pop, blues etc. He's probably most proficient on the guitar and piano but he also knows quite a lot about vocals. If you struggle with theory he does a great job demystifying some of the fundamentals of music theory that are useful to beginners. Whether you're an absolute beginner or long time musician Don will be able to help you out. Highly recommend.
I've been working with Tim for almost 2 years now. Tim has a great, private, home studio in his basement with about a dozen different acoustic and electric guitars, a variety of bass and amps, and tons of other equipment like microphones, recording software, effect peddles, etc... You don't need to bring your own equipment if you don't want to. If you do, Tim also has a work bench and can help with repairs, maintenance, and fine tuning. His studio is in Canton and convenient for lessons. Plus, Tim is very flexible and able to accommodate me when my schedule changes suddenly. When I first started with Tim, I had been playing on my own for about a year. Tim is an amazing musician but didn't make me feel bad about my level (or lack there of) of skill. Tim first taught me the basics of foundational guitar theory (notes, scales, chords grips, chord theory, keys, etc) and focused on technique, picking, fingerstyle, and strumming patterns. However, he kept it light and fun and we worked in learning the songs I wanted to learn at the same time, making the experience enjoyable instead of a chore. Tim is always willing to help transcribe and tab out a song for me, or a solo I want to reproduce, or other melodies/chord progressions from other songs. He is even willing to send out videos or recordings to use for practice purposes. We are now delving more into music theory and more advance compositions and songs.
I couldn't have been happier to have David play at my wedding! Nothing but good things to say about my experience with him. He was so easy to communicate with leading up to my event and was more than happy to accommodate anything I needed. I can't say how many people have given compliments on how much they loved listening to him perform. He is extremely talented and has an amazing voice. Not to mention very kind and professional. I would hands down recommend him to anyone who is looking to hire a musician. We didn't get a chance to see him because he played our ceremony and cocktail hour, but we plan to go see him perform as soon as we can!!
Professional, courteous and friendly. Amazing voice, great guitarist!
Billy is a very talented musician.
We all enjoyed Steve. A talented musician. Easy to work with...
I had the pleasure to work with Xen Live on May 14th, 2018 at Richland Golf Club, Middletown MD. He was very professional in every aspect: setting the speakers and the microphones ahead of time, providing a high quality equipment and being attentive to all the musicians including a singer, pianist, and violinist. The volume level was properly adjusted and the ceremony went as smoothly as possible despite the fact there was high wind at the site. I can't wait to work with Xen Live again, and highly recommend his business to everyone who is looking for a perfect wedding. Zhenya Zianouka, violinist pixieviolin.com
I hired Hannah to perform for my wedding, and she did a wonderful job! She was easy to work with, the music was beautiful, and she was punctual the day of the ceremony.
Mike Ault is a true professional - a great musician, guitar player, performer and a good guy as well :) I highly recommend his talents to anyone interested - and will continue to hire him in the future!
Jonathan is an excellent musician! He was also incredibly responsive and helpful with every question I asked leading up to the event. Although we never got a chance to meet on my wedding day the music he performed was flawless. He is extremely easy to work with and very professional. Hire him!
We hired the musical services of Peter and he presented an excellent band for our wedding reception. He was very helpful and played a wide variety of songs. The band had plenty of onstage energy and were really nice performers. Highly recommended! They will keep the dancefloor packed all night long!
Sadie is a accomplished musician who is a fine pianist as well as organist. As a music director at a Catholic church, I have employed Sadie as a subsitute organist. I also attended a piano recital she gave as a senior at Hillsdale College. Sadie's musicality and versatility make her an ideal choice as a solo artist or as an accompanist.
John has been teaching my daughter to play piano for a long time. He is an outstanding musician, is very patient and incredibly flexible. His understanding of music theory and approach to the piano is inspiring. He can play and explain any style of music that we have asked and we could not be happier. I highly recommend John.
I highly recommend Simon for your wedding, funeral, or other need. I was blessed and honored to have Simon provide the music for a funeral service earlier this year. With Simon's talent as a vocalist, as well as his skills as a composer, pianist, organist, and accompanist, the music was superb. He worked with me closely on the planning, and his suggestions for the service were excellent, including the addition of a soloist with whom Simon had worked. Many people told me afterwards how much the music touched them and uplifted them on a sad occasion, and I was touched and uplifted as well.
AJ Victoria is probably the best drummer I have ever worked with, and he is very patient in explaining the things that need to be said.
Janet was our son's violin teacher for 8 years. She was fantastic! She really catered to his interests. She is a patient and encouraging teacher. She kept him interested and challenged. She was very supportive of his concerts and Solo Ensemble - attending if she was available. He continues to play in college. She held intimate recitals in her home which were a great experience for the students. Thanks, Janet!
I have had Ron as my piano instructor for the last three years. I am not a beginner, but slightly advanced, and it is my intention to try to pick up where I left off approximately 20 years ago. His techniques are great, and the exercises that I was given to practice have given me the confidence to continue, and I, as well as others, can see a difference in my playing. His rates are very reasonable, andit is my hope that I will be able to continue with him. A fine gentleman, and very serious about his work. He is also an experienced musician!
