Two Dudes did an excellent job clearing out the overgrown brush in my yard, reclaiming my beds with mulch, and hauling away all of the debris and trash. They were professional, upbeat and skilled. I was so impressed with their work ethic that I hired Two Dudes to manage my lawn and garden. If you need landscaping, debris hauling, or lawn cutting services please give Two Dudes a call.

Parks Pristine Landscaping & its owner, Austin Parks are phenomenal!! From Austin's initial response to my posted search (he responded immediately!) to the completion of the project, this company cannot be beat! All of these adjectives (quality, professionalism, responsiveness, value and punctuality) epitomize his work! Austin was courteous/professional, & his estimate was fair and reasonable! His work met all my expectations! Everything he said he'd do, he did! I had submitted 3 separate searches on Thumbtack for the same job (trimming several 20+ ft. trees, 2-10 ft. hedges & shape/trim 6-3ft hedges). PPL was the only provider that was fully acceptable to me! I only wish PPL had been included by Thumbtack in response to my 1st search! But, I guess the 3rd time was the charm!! Austin, you're TOP NOTCH in my book!

Absolutely love the work that Curtis did in my yard. I had flower/garden beds that needed the wood removed and the dirt leveled. It was hard work. I felt that Curtis was extremely reasonable in price and have asked him to price a couple other jobs for us. I will definitely keep his number and call him again.

Our landscaping needed help and Paul provided the necessary help for our walkway and flower bed. It looks great and so far has been very easy to maintain. I have a "black thumb" when it comes to gardening, but since having the landscape work initially provided, I now enjoy tending the flower beds. Thank you!

I can’t recommend Kyle enough. I am a super picky person & he exceeded my expectations! He made a huge eyesore disappear quickly and did a GREAT job. I met with him and some other people to quote the job. Kyle’s quote was not only the most competitive, but he was also the most professional one and I felt most comfortable hiring. Bonus: he is a wealth of knowledge and I picked his brain about lawn/garden care. He really knows what he’s talking about.

Joe is the man, need I say more! He goes above and beyond what is asked. I hired him to do a little bit of landscaping before I turn my house over to renters. He threw down fresh mulch, dug trenches for the mulch, weeded my flower gardens, trimmed my bushes and roses. His work ethic is something I haven't seen in quite a while! I was so impressed by him that I have hired him to do some additional stuff around my home, not to mention I am going to pass him along to my Realtor!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.

How much does it cost to landscape your front yard?

Prices for landscaping your front yard can range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the scale of your front yard project. Your landscaping price will reflect how much change you implement, how much labor is required, and the cost of materials.

Landscaping is typically made up of softscaping and hardscaping. Softscaping refers to selecting trees, bushes, flowers and plants to achieve a desired aesthetic and to meet goals such as having a drought-tolerant yard. Hardscaping refers to moving earth, installing structures, and putting in decorative stonework, sidewalks or lighting. For softscaping, you may want to hire a landscape designer to consult on your plants and layout, and then do the digging and planting yourself or hire a gardner to handle the heavy lifting. A landscape designer’s hourly rate may range from $50 to $150 or more. If you want a turnkey approach, meaning someone who works with you to create the vision and then executes all the work, landscaping pricing will typically come down to a cost per square foot rather than an hourly rate. It’s a solid investment: Great landscaping can add up to 28 percent value to your home.
