FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
VA state law requires a charge of no more than $10 per document notarization for in-person services, and $25 per document for e-notarizations. My travel fee is a $25 flat rate for any customers within 5 miles of my office in the 23225 zip code. Anything outside those 5 miles there is a $3 charge per mile on top of the flat rate. I do have discounts from time to time on my travel fees. I also charge an administrative fee for those requiring printing services starting at $10 for the first 15 pages and 50 cent per page after 10 pages.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It all starts with a phone call usually. We will chat about what kind of documents you need notarized, your availability, whether you’d want to be provided mobile or e-notarization services, we discuss the fees involved for those services and whether they are agreeable to you, and from there we book our appointment. Day of the appointment, you will need to have valid/unexpired Identification, I will ask a few questions to make sure you understand what you are signing, you will sign your documents, I will verify the signature you provide with Identification and notarize your documents. This process usually doesn’t take longer than 10-15 minutes, but depending on the documents it can take longer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified by the National Notary Association as a NSA (Notary Signing Agent). I am a traditional and electronic notary appointed by the secretary of the commonwealth. I have had training as a project manager, and am working toward that certification.
