- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was introduced to transcription during my college education in Health Sciences. I transcribed for doctors and utilized my skills in other employment. I decided to create my own business and work from home to be my own boss and be able to take care of my children.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish clients understood the expert skills needed to transcribe audio/video files. It's not just "listen and type". There are many aspects involved including understanding thick accents, medical and legal terminology, overlapping voices, poor sound quality, coughs and laughs, etc. It is challenging and that's what I love about it.
