I had a bunch of doors, pipes, styrofoam, electronics, paint cans. Carefully packed John showed up with 2 other guys, polite and professional. It was hard to price the load ahead of time so we negotiated quickly on the spot. I helped them load the truck and we were done in under 15 minutes. Fair price, good communication, junk is gone -- what more can you ask for!

Hardcore moving efficiently and quickly moved all my things out of my house after 43 years of living there. Corey managed and oversaw all aspects while efficiently and orderly moving everything. He was not afraid to jump in and help when needed as I had not finished packing boxes. He was very kind. A stressful day turned into a joy because of them. He also bid on painting my new home. Meticulously he painted each room with joy. He was very reliable, honest and did what he said he would do. He also power washed the moss off my roof and cleaned up the area better than it had before the roof cleaning.

I hired Todd to paint the exterior of my house. It's a 1500 s.f. rambler. In short he is: responsive, reasonable, responsible. He responded to my posting in minutes and came to my house within an hour. I had a bid later that day. The price was reasonable, about in the middle. Todd pressure-washed on a Friday and then started prepping on Monday. He and a helper spend a couple of days sanding and scraping old paint that needed attention. A lot of time went into prep. When the painting was done and the trim complete, we walked around and looked for any detail that may have been missed. He only asked to be paid when everything was done. Todd was a pleasure to work with.

Revol repaired sheetrock at my home. They did a very good job with the repairs. After paint, you can't tell there once was damage. They made a bit of a mess, but after I told them, they came back and cleaned it up.

Stacy replied to my inquiry very quickly and came the next day to paint our master bedroom. We have a fairly large bedroom and he completed the painting in 2 1/2 hours- it was great. He even helped me move furniture away from the walls and took down blinds and put them back up! We will definitely be having Stacy do more work for us in the future!

Drywall and painting work was completed in three different areas as requested and in a timely manner. We had a concern on one area, he eagerly came back to make sure the work was completed to our satisfaction.

We HIGHLY recommend MM Home Services!! We hired them to paint our kitchen cabinets and it was a great experience! Our kitchen looks brand new! They had competitive pricing, were very friendly, professional, extremely high quality - what more can you ask for?!?! We'll definitely hire them for our future needs - I believe they offer a wide variety of services, so definitely ask! One thing in particular that stood out...Rodrigo, the painter took extra caution in preparing our kitchen for paint to ensure no mess. (We recently bought new furniture so were worried about over spray - this was no problem at all.) He also went the extra mile by not only suggesting we get small door bumpers to protect our cabinets, he offered to pick them up at the hardware store for us (this was not part of the job, but it's the little things like this that reflect excellent service and craftsmanship.)

He was very professional. Always on time and ready to work. Also, helped in picking out quality paint, tile and fixtures at a great value. Answered all my questions and put my mind at ease with all the work to be done. He even measured, put in brackets and hung my 60 inch flat screen above the fireplace! It looks GREAT! I would definitively recommend Kellie and use him in the future. Happy customer! 😊

Andy is exceptional. I wish that I could give more than five stars. Let me explain why he completely exceeded the expectations that my wife and I had of our project. Project: paint a mural inspired by children's literary and film characters with a backdrop of Seattle. We met with Andy brainstormed the names of different characters, and he came back with an incredibly creative mural concept that had Harry Potter zooming by the Space Needle on his broom stick carrying a basketball. The overall concept was tremendous, and he deserves taking an idea into the thoughtful concept. But, what really makes Andy distinguished is his professional approach and overall execution. The quality of his painting is jaw dropping. His careful research, studious approach, attention to detail, steady hand, and meticulous execution are off the charts. Overall, the mural will transform this basement and make us even more proud of our house. But, it was Andy, who brought this high-level idea to tremendous execution. Note: I'm sure there are other good muralists in Seattle. I assessed some others via Thumbtack and other artist marketplaces, but I'd encourage you really look at the quality of the work. Look at their portfolios. Andy was on the more expensive side, but in hindsight, it was a tremendous decision to pay the premium. Lastly, Andy is just a strong professional who takes pride in his craft and one who we trusted in our home working by himself. He showed up every morning at 730 am. Brought his coffee, lunch, and overall supplies and just worked steadily every day until the project was complete. His listening, demeanor, and overall kindness to our family was equally impressive. I just can not recommend him high enough for executing on wall murals and in taking a high-level idea into a mural concept.

Leo Shallat Mari Shibuya customized a private painting lesson for my eleven-year-old daughter and her two friends. Leo suggested meeting by the mural he and Mari were in the process of paiting and letting the girls take a turn at contribtuing to the mural after the lesson. It was amazing! The girls learned some brushstroke basics, paint mixing, and landscape painting. Leo and Mari set up a tent to protect from the weather and brought all supplies. They were fantastic with the girls. It was an amazing experience for them!

Rafael was an all-around professional for my interior painting job. He came to my house to provide a quote as scheduled, provided a VERY reasonable quote quickly, and painted during a week I was out of town as I requested. His job was top notch . No drips or streaks like my previous paint job. Holes patched, edges neat, smooth walls. When I returned home, all of my furniture was back in place as I left it, with new, perfectly painted walls. Rafael is my new to-go painter, 5 stars doesn't tell the story! I strongly recommend Rafael for any paint job.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

    • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
    • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
    • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
    • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
