Christian helped me figure out how to count and play swing music in time. I couldn’t even play in time or count correctly before I started taking lessons with Christian. He taught me music theory. I didn’t even know the Major and Minor Scales before starting with Christian. He taught me how to practice the scales along with music to figure out how to listen to the way the melody of the song moved. He taught me how to find II V Is and other patterns in songs. He was very very patient. He also helped me with learning Latin Jazz rhythms- Different Clave patterns and how to feel the clave in the songs. He took me from being at a 6th grade level of playing up to above a high school level of playing and he made every lesson interesting and fun. He really helped me learn how to really improvise. I had never ever played any jazz before. I started with just a strict almost marching band ability to play to get to where I felt lije I was getting to sing a great song with this great voice with some style. He helped me loosen up and relax and really enjoy playing music. He’s a terrific teacher. He’s very very good. I really can’t say enough. I feel like he took me from point 0 to a 10 and up to being a continual learner and able to use what he taught me to play any song.

Christian has been a wonderful teacher for my son. He has held him to a high standard, while making music-learning fun and creative. Christian has introduced unique projects and repertoire that responds to his current interests, while also ensuring that the fundamentals are covered comprehensively.
