I have had the pleasure of knowing Prisco for ten years. When I walked into his gym ten years ago, it was simply to be able to wear a skinny dress for a special occasion. As a 40 year old woman, I was tired of feeling out of shape. Prisco asked me to start training and to my surprise I agreed, as I would never spend extra money on myself. Slowly and steadily my life began to change. Prisco set up a workout routine that was manageable for my lifestyle and physical limitations. He encouraged me to take classes that challenged my comfort level. It was not all about training with him, it was about achieving my goals. I slimmed down, developed muscle tone and stamina, and most of all gained a whole lot of confidence. Will I ever run a marathon, probably not. However, I can go hiking and enjoy a range of physically challenging activities. Prisco has me focus on what I can do and all the positive areas in my life. After a few years of personal training, Prisco began coaching me. Those sessions were and are invaluable. He is insightful and intuitive and helped me discover the joy insight myself. Working with Hannah has been a life changing experience. She is a professional that can accommodate all levels of fitness from the elderly to the adolescent. In my case , I am middle aged and was out of shape with limited range of motion and little muscle mass. The results I've experience, which takes time and patience, have been due to being steady and consistent and trusting Hannah as my guide. She has been there 110% and helped me find confidence and strength I didn't think I had. I managed to stay focused on my goal to get strong and fi without getting hurt. Over the past 20 years Ive tried virtually every sort of fitness class available, from aerobics classes like body pump, step and Zumba, to core classes like Pilates and yoga. Some of them were fine, and some, like Zumba, were ridiculous! More importantly, none of the things I did had much of an impact on my body shape or size. About a year ago I decided to try RichFit Coaching with some of the girls from my office. I was reluctant at first, mostly because Im at least 20 years older than most of the rest of the group. The classes have been a wonderful surprise. Rich is an amazingly intuitive coach and his classes are incredibly challenging but never grueling. Its not about how many pull ups you can do or pushing big truck tires its about functional, total-body strength, balance and flexibility the sort of fitness essential to a healthy life. I saw and felt results within the first couple of weeks. Twelve months later I weigh 25 pounds less and Im more flexible and fit than Ive been in years!
I approached Victoria because I needed some help changing my dreams into goals. She is a very effective listener and really took into consideration my own strengths and character traits when tailoring her advice to me. Now I have achievable tasks that I can complete everyday instead of a huge, daunting idea on which I didn't know where to start. I'm also a little easier on myself! I started working with my personal trainer, Peter Lucas, who views things with a holistic approach, to improve overall health, well-being, and spirituality. He’s helped me see obstacles as opportunities instead! He’s helped me with nutrition, meditation, journaling and having a healthy, wholesome, and positive attitude and perspective towards life. Also from him I’m slowly learning some kinesiology addressing physiological, biomechanical, and psychological mechanisms of movement. He’s like a Buddha, really— calm, patient, and kind. Usually I am scared sh*tless to go on walks by myself especially on busy main streets. It’s anxiety inducing because I have Tourette urges where I want to jump out into traffic or I worry about having tics where I fall and roll all over the floor, scraping my knee pretty badly but working with Peter Lucas has helped me formed a “just do it” mentality, living in the moment and stop forecasting so damn much. So now I go on brisk walks everyday for at least 20 minutes, workout five times a day for at least half an hour, and learning how to meditate and eat right. Even though it hasn’t been 12 weeks yet (the amount of time I am working with Peter) I can vouch that he is compassionate, loving, understanding, knowledgeable, patient, humorous, funny, free-spirited, laid-back and down to earth. Overall an amazing human being. I also appreciate his calmness and tranquility when I lunge at him, toss things at him, or have other tourette symptoms that night be startling and nerve wracking to others. It helps me remain calm and less anxious and to focus on my workout. Coach Z has been very impressive. He explored my entire makeup of body, mind, spirit and moods. He explained his philosophy of combining all elements of the person and together working for a healthy balance. The first workout showed him to be a mindful coach who explained what area was being addressed and it's importance. I am a a 63 year old male and he addresses age specific concerns.
