He arrived on time, completed all the work in a timely manner, and performed all additional requests I made along the way. In addition he even helped correct the poor installation of others in appliances I didn't hire him to help with, and some added advice on a few DIY projects I had.

Very responsive, met with me the same day and completed the work the day after. He gave me honest information about the condition of our roof and what his scope is and isn't. We had a minor complication with a repair with Ernesto back at our home in 10 minutes. All is well. Will continue to use him and very reasonable in terms of cost.

Nate repaired a large hole in the drywall of my dining room. He arrived on time, was very organized, and got to work right away. He made sure to protect my carpets and furniture during the repair. Nate worked quickly but did not rush through the job and put a lot of care into doing the repair correctly. He matched the unusual texture on my walls perfectly and left the wall looking like the damage had never occurred. Nate made sure to clean up any mess from the repair after he was finished. Nate performed quality work, has affordable pricing, and is very customer service oriented. I highly recommend Nate to anyone looking for outstanding home improvement services. Thanks, Nate!

I had Chris out to my house recently to redo our house. When i say redo, i mean redo. A pipe broke but it was more like a slow leak so when i had my floors rotting out that rippled into walls we decided to redo everything. We had hardwood and tiles put in and they were flawless. I dont know if i can attach pictures but if i can i will. He remodeled our bathroom, our kitchen, and our living room. Remodeled half of our study and my daughters room. I painted the whole interior to get rid of the mold. Insulation and plumbing was done by a sub he recommended but everything turned out flawless. I loved getting updates while i was at work or out of town. Toni sent me pictures of extra work that was going to be involved and asked if i wanted it performed not pressuring me into it. I also appreciate the fact that they worked weekends. I appreciated the fact that they were so courteous of my stuff, covering my clothes when they sanded the drywall in the laundry room, carefully placing my paintings where they would not get broken, etc. At one point, something was cut short, it was a really simple mistake but Chris went and got some more to replace it. I really appreciated their honesty. They did what they said they would do and on time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I loved the fact that they fixed the issues and i loved the fact that they stayed within their estimate even though most of the work was hourly rated. They really increased the value of my home! Call them for repairs or remodeling...

Tim was prompt, professional and skilled. He arrived, diagnosed problem quickly, installed a solution and left two very happy customers behind. We were able to cancel a service call that would have made us wait 2 extra days and cost $300 more!

I do the best I can every single time. My work is professional, original and most importantly effective in every situation I enter. Let me give you an example, my most recent customer had major issues with his internet connection, he is a day trader, first I ensured his computer was secure and running as fast as possible, I then traced the lines for his entire house (even through the walls) and into the crawl space. Where I rectified the issue and I also found his missing cat which had got trapped in the crawl space after wriggling in through a loose wire mesh.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

    • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
    • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
    • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

    How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
