Chris Korzin is an excellent teacher and drummer. As I was starting from no drumming background he made me comfortable and opened me up to learn all the many aspects of drumming. His teaching methods are great for all experience levels! As I reach my 5th year of drumming he still challenges and inspires me. Chis has been instrumental in my music career allowing me to take the ideas in my head and convey them through my drumming! No doubt, the choice for drum lessons in the Tacoma area!

Jeff came to our house, years ago, to teach our son beginning guitar lessons. Jeff is easy to have around and was a great teacher. I would recommend him to anyone needing lessons at any age.

Eli was my drum teacher for several months and I could not be more thankful to have had him. I was a percussionist and drummer through junior high and high school but really wanted to take my playing to the next level. Eli worked with me and I learned more than I ever could have on my own. He is an expert at his craft and perhaps more importantly, an excellent teacher. The primary qualities I look for in an instructor are patience, optimism, and effective communication skills. Eli gets an A+ in all three of these areas. Additionally, he is one of the most passionate musicians and people I have ever met, and as a result that made every lesson a blast. His positive energy is contagious. I highly recommend him if you are considering drum lessons.

I took drum lessons from Phil for many years. I found he is extremely knowledgeable on the subject and highly skilled in the trade, not to mention easy to be around and he always went the extra mile (even when I didn't practice). Being his student was highly beneficial and I feel I got a premium musical education.

I really enjoy music lessons with Jacob, I've had several teachers and he is by far the easiest to work with and to learn from. He's a great guitar player and keeps the lessons fun, he also does a good job at making sure that what I'm practicing has something to do with what I'm interested in. I've had teachers in the past that did not make guitar interesting, Jacob is great, well worth the money! I'm much better than I was before I started with him.

I received beginner guitar lessons from Justin. It was great! He taught me the basics and some great tricks to help me remember what I was learning each week. I felt like I improved really quickly with his instructions. I was impressed with how patient he was while he listened to me fumble through the chords!

I have worked with Gust and Krystal of SMI for almost one year now. Krystal has come to our home every week for a piano lesson for our 4 and 8 year old. She keeps it interesting and lively and my kids are really enjoying playing music (which was our hope through all of this!) and they have learned so much. The fact that she comes to the house and provides a 30 minute solid lesson for my 8 year old and a more brief 15 minute lesson for my 4 year old is great (as that is about her attention level). I am happy to have found them and hope to continue for sometime to come!

Every lesson is designed for me based on my progression from the week prior. He is always available to speak even when I don't have lessons to offer additional help. Playing djembe (hand drums) to modern music styles and using hip grooves for hand drums is everywhere. Learn tips for creating a hand drum or percussion set up for a band. Lessons are often recorded with a digital MP3 stereo recorder and video recorder to enhance the learning experience further and have the student enjoy for reference later. These are often posted on my FB page. Students are encouraged to and can engage anytime with me through my FB page with questions, and posts of a music or drumming nature. My simple mission is to have students excel at drumming and develop a lifelong joy and passion for the instrument and music. Happy drumming to you! Warm regards, Glenn Thilman Testimonial: "My son started playing drums when he was 15. It was his first experience playing an instrument. I thought he was a typical teenage boy wanting to be in a rock band and figured the interest would die, but somehow, Glenn got him hooked and he fed that interest and developed my son's talent. Over the three years of lessons, his skill and confidence grew quickly." -- Lisa (Sept. 28, 2011)
