FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Of Course! in a constantly shifting industry working musicians have to know what is going on in many different styles. I've got students bringing me stuff from Katy Perry to Nirvana. You can't know every band of course so often there is stuff I've never heard of brought to me. That doesn't mean I can't teach it to them. I sometimes take lessons myself to learn from other players. We never stop learning. I have only been out of college for the past two years now but I have been thinking about taking a composition class. Composition is something I want to possibly start getting into. As with anything that involves education, continuing education is important.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
In lessons I mostly work with younger children. Most of my students come to me with little or no music experience, so we begin from the ground up. I do work with adults and in fact I believe it is never to late to learn an instrument. In fact I applaud everyone who takes lessons for their effort, just by taking lessons. Most of the time the first few lessons with a new student are based around stick technique and basic concepts of the drum set. If a new student comes to me and they have already mastered these concepts then we have more options of where to start.
