SpareFoot Moving Guides "10 Best Seattle Professional Organizers" Best of Thumbtack 2015, 2016, 2017 Golden Circle Member of the National Association of Professional Organizers I want this process to be fun. I will use humor at every opportunity to make this work easier. I am also able to work in what some people see as very informal environments - with the kids side-by-side with us, the cat trying to get into the boxes, the plumber at your house at the same time. That can make the effort easier for you, and that is a key to success. This job has to be 100% client-centered. If you have to call it quits early because your 2-year-old just had a temper tantrum, we will. And we'll start again when you can. I get huge satisfaction when I am able to help people on a deeply personal, highly collaborative level. I constantly need to be creative and think on my feet to develop solutions with my customers. There are very few people who are "traditional" file-cabinet-and-folder thinkers. It's fun to help people explore out-of-the-box ideas and methods for resolving their problems. And it's a wonderful reward to help people regain comfort and peace in their homes, or get new space for a new aspect of their lives, like turning a garage into an art studio.(show more)

I like to listen to what my client needs, and then suggest items that will compliment items they already have. I also always give my honest opinion on how something looks, I will not put someone in something that doesn't look great on them! I like that helping others find beautiful pieces to wear can help them feel confident in their appearance.(show more)

I am a 54 year old semi-retired female. I live in Ballard with my cat, Evo, who gets along well with dogs. In fact, I am certain he believes he is a dog himself!! I am available to check on your animals daily and/or sit overnight, in your home. I love all animals, especially dogs and cats. I have no formal training, but pets have always been a part of my family, so I have lots of informal life experience to draw from. I look forward to every opportunity to spend time with animals. I go for walks every day, rain or shine, even if I am not pet sitting. I promise to give your furry family member(s) the same love, affection and attention that I give my own. I am known by some as their "animal whisperer friend" because animals tend to be drawn to me and feel calm and at peace. Connecting with living things; meaning people, animals and/or nature.(show more)
I provide multiple services for home improvements. I am able to give a disorganized space and full of clutter and confusion a clean sweep, giving the space full access in a new structured functional way; this can be closets, drawers, garages, bathrooms, office spaces, soar rooms, or backyards. For any space in need of cleaning and organizing to become functional and user friendly, I can give it the facelift it needs to sustain. Another part I enjoy is reinventing and remaking a room that is in need of change. I am able to use any pieces already in the home and recreate and integrate them much more efficiently in the space they are in. Also, I enjoy giving the furniture items a makeover and adding colors onto the walls or maybe even have a mural put on the ceiling! I can recreate a room into an individual statement by simply fusing what my client already has in his/her home with my eye-for-style harmony in a space. I am also meticulously detailed when it comes to organizing and/or cleaning a home. I clean homes as if they were my own. I refuse to cut any corners and do less than an optimal job for any job that I am committed to completing. I think everyone should do their very best even if it is for another. Frequently, I clean newly built homes, vacation homes, and occupied homes. I rarely do commercial buildings. Cleaning services for occupied or not are charged by the hour at a $35 to $45 rate. For an additional service, such as redecorating, this fluctuates and are drastically different depending on the client's needs and the size of the space.(show more)
What do you love about your job?
I've helped clients live healthier lives, heal from trauma, and strengthen personal relationships. My profession lets me use my attentiveness to details, creativity, ability to think on my feet, and empathy, which are all my strengths, to the maximum advantage for my clients. I learn as much from my clients as they learn from me. This work requires me to learn all the time.
Who inspired you to start your own business?
I'm an older mom who was returning to the workforce after being a stay-at-home parent for six years. I realized pretty quickly that returning to traditional employment was going to be difficult. However, it was necessary for me to go back to work, as I was getting a divorce. I don't remember how I found professional organizing, but I went to a meeting of the local chapter of the professional society. They were having a "What's Your Favorite Organizing Tool?" round table discussion, and when I realized how happy I was surrounded by people who were discussing the merits of file folder systems, I was hooked. I wish I'd known about this many years ago. I'd have written a children's book about it!
