Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: The most common feedback I tend to receive is that I listen. I myself have had a number of "traumatic" experiences with hair and makeup that left me feeling down about the way I looked. That happened because the artists didn't listen to me. I make it a point to make my art a co-creation...meaning the client tells me their vision (or sometimes lack of) and I share mine...The goal is to arrive at a beautiful place of merge between the artist and the canvas (you!). I think as well as listening, I'm not afraid to think outside the box. Im extremely creative and forward thinking. My experience ranges from costume and wig design, theatrical makeup, classic beauty, giant paper mache sculpture and masks, weddings, makeovers, you name it. Women in their 70's to crazy bay area djs. I love it all. It's two fold. There is no better feeling than helping to raise someones' self esteem or to help them to find a new part of themselves they want to express. I'm a psychology nerd as well as an artist so for me, it's about the human connection...and how healing the art of beauty can be. Truly, it can be life changing. The second thing I love of course is creating. I die inside when I don't create. I'm in love with color and texture and shapes. My job is hella fun in that no two people look the same. Our possibilities to create are endless.

Hired on Thumbtack

Audrey Hepburn... Breakfast at Tiffanys... an upcoming semi-formal occasion caused me to want to emulate Audrey's elegant style with my hair and makeup. Aylah's first words in her Thumbtack introduction were " I looove Audrey Hepburn!.." And I knew instantly I found the perfect person to bring out the "glam" in me! During the two hours she set aside for the transformation we chatted and I sipped tea and nibbled on cookies while she painstakingly applied thirty-eight bobby pins, matte foundation and contouring, brow pencil, two new eyelashes, custom-colored lipstick, and the requisite misting of hairspray. One tiara later, I was propelled into the world of little black party dresses, jewels, and opera gloves. The night was magical, and I have Aylah to thank for a timeless look that turned heads. She is an experienced, talented stylist, sensitive to the goals of her client. I had a delightful experience and hope to visit her again soon!
