Introduction: Scout MacKay has been teaching children since 2006. She has taught music and art in Costa Rica, Colombia, and Guatemala, and brought musical instruments and lessons to children who live in poverty. Scout currently teaches music to more than thirty private students in Seattle. Students either come to her studio on Beacon Hill, or she travels up to 3 miles to their houses. Each lesson in Seattle provides for a child living in poverty in Latin America to learn music. Scout MacKay has a natural gift for working with children and inspiring their intrinsic creativity. Each lesson is uniquely designed to fit her students interests and needs.
Scout MacKay is a natural born teacher with a gift for inspiring children's innate creativity. Her students, ages 3 -18, are encouraged to develop their own musicality and compose and create as well as learn music that falls into a variety of genres. Many of her students learn multiple instruments, and find themselves trying new things they never would have expected.
