- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After many years of playing piano for whoever asked me to for free, I got hired part time to play. Part time turned into full time and then people started asking me to teach them, so again I started for free and then because of demand started charging for lessons. 15 years later I am still playing for my work and teaching on the side.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I teach piano, bass guitar, guitar and drums. The instruments I personally play are piano and bass guitar. I train people how to set up and use sound equipment. I teach general midi which is useful for recording on your home computer. I help with computer maintenance.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Learning a musical instrument is not easily mastered, but in a short amount of time skills can be acquired. With instruction and consistent practice you can play the music you love.
