Introduction: My goal as a piano instructor is to help people play the music they love, no matter what style or genre, while providing a solid background in fundamentals of technique and theory.
I enjoy helping bridge the gap between styles such as classical and jazz by highlighting the often hidden similarities between genres and tackling the challenges that face students learning new styles such as rhythm and improvisation.
For younger or beginning students, I take special care to develop strong sight reading and ear skills with interactive lesson plans that focus more on fun and intelligent engagement rather than rote practicing.
My general approach is to gradually build each student up to the point where practicing is intuitive, straight-forward, and fun by offering specific practice strategies tailored to individual goals and learning styles.

My studio is located in Maple Leaf near 85th and 5th, just north of Greenlake Village. Openings on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, currently.

I have been playing the piano self-taught, and trying to learn jazz. I could not have asked for a better teacher! Aaron was very informative, patient and enthusiastic. I learned some music theory, got some hands on practice to apply them on songs of my choice, and even received some drills to improve my technique.
