FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $50/hour, $40/45 minutes, and $30/half hour for private violin lessons, but prices vary depending on location of lesson and travel expenses. Lessons must be paid in full, in monthly installments (4-5 lessons/month). I accept cash, check, PayPal, and Square for payments. For more info, please review my studio policy below: Performances for banquets, weddings, etc. will vary depending on ensemble requested, location and travel expenses, and number of abilities requested. ——————————— 🎻 Studio Policy 🎻 Regarding Payments: I expect lessons for each month to be paid in one monthly installment, beginning on the first lesson when we start; afterwards, payments will be due at the last lesson of each month, prior to the first lesson of the following month (i.e. Jan’s payment due at the end of Dec, Feb’s payment due at the end of Jan, etc). You can also pay any amount of months upfront if you’d like (let’s say Dec, Jan, and Feb payments in one installment). I accept cash, check, PayPal, and Square - just know that when paying by debit or credit card with Square, 5% sales tax will be added on to cover convenience fees. All students will receive a written receipt when a payment is made. Regarding Free/Trial Lessons: No free trial lessons are offered unless stated otherwise in a promotion. I do offer the first two lessons to be made as separate payments (as regular payments are made in monthly installments). This is to give you time to see if you’d like to stay with me as a teacher or if you’d prefer to look elsewhere. However, most are confident in my teaching after their first lesson. Trial period must be requested prior to first lesson, otherwise a monthly payment will be owed at the first lesson. Regarding Missed/Cancelled/Rescheduled Lessons: Missed lessons don’t roll over to the next month - if a lesson is missed, it can be rescheduled within the paid month (usually on the same week the lesson is missed, but I also offer double hour lessons, two lessons a week, or any other possible arrangement within the month if needed - you only need ask). If one goes without asking for a make up/rescheduled lesson, I assume they do not want to reschedule. Only one unexcused lesson (a no call, no show or lesson missed without good reason - same that would apply to missing a day of school or work) can be made up each month - if more than one is canceled or rescheduled, the student missed out on that week’s paid lesson. If student wants to discontinue lessons, they must give me a two weeks notice. If a student quits lessons altogether without two weeks notice within the middle of the month, no refund will be given. If a student quits lessons altogether without two weeks notice on a payday, a payment worth the amount of two lessons must still be made. I am firm on my policy so that I can keep my schedule and income consistent.
