- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If necessary, I will advise my student on the process of selecting an instrument as well as other optional materials. Next, I will assess their playing level and decide how to proceed with instruction. I typically begin by introducing exercises to help establish or improve technique on the instrument, and then move on to teach solo pieces based on the student’s playing level. I make sure to
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied the violin for fifteen years, and have been teaching for seven. I have performed and competed as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. Most recently, I won the Pomona College Orchestra Concerto Competition and performed the Wieniawski d minor concerto as a soloist in November. Over the past seven years, I have been teaching private lessons to students of all ages and playing levels, as well as coaching young chamber ensembles.

I work with students of all playing levels and ages. This includes children as young as five, as well as adult beginners.
