FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes; since I've been developing my SEO Content Writing servce for online promotion, I've been attending webinars and reading white papers on the subject.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked to save up for a Bakelite camera, if anyone remembers those! LOL For those of you who don't, well it was a small box shaped camera..you had to load the film into it by putting the roll of film on the pin and then stretching it over the sprockets. I had to save the pennines I could scratch by selling empty bottles & tin cans, i collected. A penny for the beer bottles, 2cents for the pop bottles...they would be found strewn along the road; back in the day, folks would finish their beverages and just toss the bottles out threw the window. Tin cans, same story, you had to crush them and the aluminum would be sold by the weight. Well the day came when got the camera AND could buy a roll of film. THEN I took some snaps of my darling siblings. So cute! They were snaps of them playing with their toys, splashing in the bathtub, sleeping, eating, etc. THEN i had to save up the money to get the film developed. I was so excited... I road down to the store to pick up the images and could not even wait till I got out of the store to open the envelope. I stood there, ripped into it and went through the pics. DOOM. These were not my photos... not the ones I TOOK! I went back to the clerk and I said, " I think there's been a mistake; these are not my photos. She took them, looked up the name, number, call slip, etc. "Well, this is the roll of film you brought in... let me see them,.." I waited while she looked thru them, "You know these children?" "Yes. But those are not the photographs I took" "Well, who took them?" "I don't know, but it wasn't me." Anyway, that's how it began. I had to realise that the camera, when pointed does not take the picture you have in your mind. YOU have to learn how to get that picture in your mind to snap into the camera. A camera does not take a photo of your feelings. You learn to do that...to interpret what you see and train yourself to 'translate' in to the film. AND I'm still doing that?! It's the "art-part" you get hooked on. The creative process. I moved from stills some years ago into filmmaking. NOW, that's a challenge...to capture movement to communicate what you are feeling about what's in front of your lens. I love my work & I love making people happy by doing this work.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Gathering the information related to what they sell and to whom; then we research where their desired demographic are buying that service or product from, and finally, we stage and capture the footage we need to edit an entertaining and educational video. In essence, we distill the information regarding overall branding, of the service or product being offered to the consumer. During this type of production, everything comes into play when it involves the use of video to sell a product. The choice of sound design to include music, the scripting and adding of good Voice Over Narrative, the editing style, the link put into the video that attract and pull traffic to where the video is placed.
