Sam is very knowledge in personal fitness. He pushed me to develop my strengths, vocalized the positive qualities that I came in with and further supported the need for a healthy lifestyle. He is positive and energetic within the realm of fitness. Sam is thorough in what it takes to work various parts of the body and each workout was aimed at specific regions which supports a well rounded fitness routine. I'd highly recommend...

I met Craig at a crossroads. His attention to organizational detail, both personal and professional has been instrumental in giving someone unable to focus on the details in front of him the ability to be in the present while prioritizing for the future. In addition, his understanding on managing professional relationships was thorough and clarifying. The time I spent with him was worth many times the price because the skills I learned continue to bring me back to center in my professional and personal lives. Craig continues to be one of the most influential and inspiring people I've met! Oscar Rincones

My husband and I were struggling with our 17 year old daughter who was out of control at the time. I was at my breaking point and really didn't know how to help her. I contacted Nicole who started meeting with our daughter and has now developed an extremely supportive relationship with her. We discovered there was a lot of negative energy in our home. Nicole came to our home and removed the energy and blessed our home. We met with her several times to talk about the energies we give off as individuals and a family. We discussed other ways to channel our energy. I learned a lot about myself in this process. I was holding onto many things from my past that I had not let go of and this was transferring to our daughter and my marriage. Nicole was able to put this into perspective for me in ways I never could have imagined. She taught me how to let go and take control of my negative thoughts. She taught me how to really love myself, my husband, and my daughter. We would still be in the same path if it wasn’t for Nichole coming into our lives a few short months ago. I will thank her for the rest of our lives.

Kva has been working with me since my cancer diagnosis several months ago. I have experienced both live shamanic sessions after treatment as well as long distance Reiki during chemo sessions. I have skipped a couple of sessions and have regretted it. This is because the long distance Reiki has proven to help me tremendously during my treatments when I usually suffer from serious anxiety attacks as well as bouts of nausea. The Reiki keeps me balanced and though the situation is never going to be perfect it makes chemo as tolerable as it can possibly be. The Shamanic sessions are a little different in that we work more directly with my own spiritual and healing goals-regarding healing of the body, mind and spirit. They do have the added benefit of warding off the side effects of chemotherapy. I feel that if I didn't have Kva to help me through such trying times, I would be far worse off. As it is, despite a serious diagnosis and harsh treatment, I am probably healthier and bounce back much faster due to the energetics that Kva offers. I want to also add that she is a very compassionate person with excellent listening skills. Be prepared to feel loved and to be respected.

KO is hands down the most effective and knowledgeable trainer I have worked with. I have trained with world record holding coaches and have seen more results from KOs knowledge than I did in 2x the time with the others. Every facet of training, diet and recovery is throughly explained in a way anyone can understand and utilize.

      About

I offer holistic health coaching as I am a registered nurse. I teach both group and individual yoga classes. I create aromatherapy healing blends along with healing touch techniques to improve health and reduce stress and pain.

      About

As a nurse, mother, and care giver, I understand the challenges women have with health and stress management issues. Transitions happen in our lives all the time...career changes, children growing up and moving away, relationship changes, parents aging and needing our help, and our own health changes (weight management and onset of chronic conditions that cause us to change our activity and diet). Sometimes, we just need someone to stand with us and help us figure it all out and support us through each change. Using a model that includes all aspects of health and living (physical, psychological , spiritual, social, etc) and including family in all aspects of these changes, we can work to make the changes we want to make. We have a choice and the power to make them...with a little support.

Most coaches want you to see where they have obtained their education, and the licenses they have; I want my clients to see that I have experienced and conquered many tests and trials in what I teach to them, share with them, and encourage them to stay away from. My work with my clients allows me to be transparent, but not so personal that we forget the tasks at hand. I am the coach that will hold my clients accountable so that they do not have to go through what I went through.

      About

After completing 4 years in the navy and 2 years in the army, I have been on a quest to help children and women overcome the emotional and negative body images associated with lack of exercise and to have the right support system around them. I will be reviewing on an ongoing basis of your food choices and helping to jump-start some new ones. We will begin a regiment of exercises that will fit your body type and after, a body evaluation. I opened a gym 20 years ago, and I recently closed a women's gym in Round Lake. I have had many success stories. As long as you are willing, I am able!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

      What is a health coach?

A health coach is a service provider you can hire to help you realize your wellness goals. You can hire a health and wellness coach to guide you through life changes, keep you focused on weight loss or fitness goals, help boost your mental health, and more. Many health coaches work with their clients for set periods of time as the client moves toward a measurable goal. Wellness coaches come from varying backgrounds, and may have different areas of focus depending on their education and training. Research potential coaches by reading their reviews, researching their academic and personal backgrounds, and learning about any certifications they have earned from coaching institutes. Often, health and wellness coaches sell coaching packages ranging from three to six months or longer, depending on the client’s needs. The average national cost for an individual health coach session ranges from $60 to $90, although prices may range as low as $30 or up to $130 or more, depending on your location and the coach.

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

What is a holistic wellness coach?

When you want to reach new heights with your health and wellness, consider hiring a holistic wellness coach. Much like a health coach, a holistic wellness coach is focused on your well-being and meets with you in one-on-one sessions to help you identify and reach your targeted goals. A holistic wellness coach will typically have you take all components of your life into account when working to achieve your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, a holistic wellness coach will not only offer recommendations for your diet and exercise, but also discuss your emotional health, your work/life balance, your spiritual side, and each area of your life that affects your ability to follow a nutrition and fitness plan.

Although they are highly motivational and often can help clients achieve great results, holistic wellness coaches are not professional health care providers or registered dietitians. Different institutes and training centers provide certifications for holistic wellness coaching, so be sure to research your coach and read their reviews to understand more about their techniques and training.

      Why get a life coach?

People of all ages and in all careers have called in a life coach. Life coaches are accredited professionals who can help you figure out the tangible changes you can make in your life to reach your goals; they can even help you turn your dreams into goals, if you’re not sure where to go next. A life coach can also help people find their purpose in life. Life coaching clients often have an idea of what they want to do, such as help people or work with animals, but don’t know how to turn that passion into a career. A life coach can help clients work through the options to find a clear path with concrete steps that lead to an attainable goal. A life coach can also help clients make a major career change, such as starting a new business. Life coaches can help clients develop better habits that will make them more successful, acting as an accountability partner. Life coaches also often guide their clients through major transitions in life, such as a career change or other stressful situations that are made easier with guidance from a neutral third party.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
