FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tuition is paid by month and is due at the beginning of each month for that month of lessons. You can pay through check, Zelle, or venom.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will sit down with you and your child. We will discuss and write out long and short term goals. Then I will assess the child's previous musical background and support network (parents, grandparents, family members, friends). The program will include customizing you or your child's music program to interest and challenge them while keeping their learning style in mind. Periodic updates will be made to assist when needed. Once the goals are established, the student, parents, and support network will commit to the goals publicly. This is done through the policy statement and connecting to the network of people through social media or email. This is because it is proven that people are 10 times more likely to follow through if the commitment is made publicly. Through out the year there will be recitals, state audition, and other events for your child to participate in for my local students. This is a great time to help your child gain confidence. It can be scary, but you will find that our family networks are very supportive and gracious.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Michelle is a voice and piano teacher with over 18 years of experience in the private sector. She has an intense passion for the musical journey that each individual takes on and caters her lessons to fit each student. Let's face it, we're not all the same, so why should our journey be the same. Along with her passion, her credentials include a BA in Voice from UW-Whitewater, WI. And for further development, she has taken part in Muiskgarten certifications (intro music classes), recording technology classes at MMI (Madison Media Institute), Songwriting workshops at Berkley School of Music in Boston, MA, and is a member of the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association). Michelle is also apart of a Local band that performs at annually at Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI. They support Autism Awareness and love to help out a good cause. Michelle encourages her students take part in the local chapter auditions for the WMTA (Wisconsin Music Teachers Association) every year. By doing this, she prepares them for future performances and gives them confidence in their music ability. She also holds 2 in-person recitals and 2-3 virtual Open mics for her students yearly which gives the students ample time to show off their new skills to the family. Michelle also provides younger students with themed music challenges and 2 group classes per year. This is a great way for students to have fun with their piers and share in their music journey. It is a great hit with the children.
