FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take several workshops throughout the year to continue to learn and grow as an artist. Many of these workshops have also been purchased in a digital format allowing me to review them as I see fit. I also take hands-on workshops and have a continually growing library of photography related books that I read and reread. Lastly, I am continually learning by doing. I utilize my children as models, photograph landscapes, and also work with other individuals as models to try new techniques, ideas, etcetera and continue to build my skills that way as well.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I photograph mostly weddings and the engagement sessions that go along with them. I am madly in love with wedding photography and feel incredibly blessed to work with so many amazing couples each year. Additionally, I specialize in children's portraits and am equally in love with this side of my business. As a mother myself, I cannot explain the joy a child's smile or laughter brings as it fills my studio or the location we are in. I create laid-back fun sessions that evoke the true nature of children.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Most importantly, hire someone you are comfortable with. The engagement session that many photographers offer as part of a wedding package is not just for you to have engagement pictures, it allows you {the couple} to get a feel for and create a relationship with the photographer. I encourage every one of my couples to utilize the engagement session, it will not only give you some amazing images of your engagement but will help me do a better job on your wedding day meaning you'll have the best wedding photos that I'm capable of producing. They will directly reflect who you are as a couple and not come off looking overly posed or stiff.
