What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For private and group private classes I discuss what my clients needs are as well as their expectations of what they want to get out my classes. From there I can customize a program suitable for each dancer and their level.
For group classes I have my own lesson plan based on if I will be teaching a beginning, intermediate, or advanced class.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a state certified dance teacher through the dance program at Mt. San Antonio College. I am also certified Zouk and Kizomba teacher through ISDC (Ivo and Shani Dance Company). I have my Zumba Fitness instructor certification as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
For privates I will charge $60 per hour per person. If purchasing multiple privates a bundle discount can be arranged.
Group Classes would be a standard rate of $60 per hour.
Choreography for special events would range depending on the job. $100-250
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started dancing in high school for fun and my passion for dace grew from there. I graduated high school and found myself always making time for my dance classes in college. Eventually I thought to myself why am I not doing this for a living. So I began teaching and found how much I loved it. Teaching dance is the most rewarding thing in my life. I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with mainly beginning level students. Ages rage from 10 years old to 50 years old.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am currently apart of a dance company called ISDC. I am apart of their teachers team and we hold 6 week beginning courses to learn Brazilian Zouk Lambada and Kizomba. I teach the level 1 students.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you hire someone you are comfortable with and makes the experience fun. Learning a new skill can be intimidating so finding an instructor that makes this experience less intimidating and more fun makes all the difference.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Have a clear vision of what your expectations are. Do some research and listen to the professional. They will always have good advice.
