What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I enjoy working with people so they can be successful, whether it's a building a new custom resume and introductory letter or coaching designed to provide them with a leg up as they interact with organizations and/or recruiters. The entire process can be stressful, and there are many well-prepared candidates out there, so competition is a challenge. All in all, helping my clients to be confident and well-prepared makes me happy, too!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do have a standard pricing package. Typically, I need to speak with the potential clients to determine if they currently have a resume, as well as how complex their search may be.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I determine what the client currently has and ultimately will need. Some clients have a resume that needs updating, while others need to create one from scratch. I have a simple questionnaire to start the process and design rolling. For those clients who need interview preparation and coaching (one of my specialties), that makes a winning package which provides them with the tools they need.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With a diverse background, I am well qualified to provide excellent services. My clients are my priority, and I do everything I can to make their resume and job search successful. I have my Senior Professional Human Resources Certification (SPHR), and have worked with almost all types of industries and people at different levels in organizations. My most recent work was as a Senior HR Consultant at Mountain States Employers Council. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from The University of Colorado and a graduate degree from The University of Denver, plus 20 years of experience in HR in positions ranging from Technical Recruiter to HR Consultant and trainer.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began my career as an Assistant Buyer in Retailing. One day management came to me and said we need someone to train our Assistant Buyers, would you be interested? . Training was part of Human Resources, so it went on from there-to a variety of industries and jobs.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of clients with multi needs. This experience ranges from Banking and Information Technology to Healthcare and hospitals to a variety of small and medium sized businesses. I feel fortunate to have this range of perspectives.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I have several. Working with people to help them become successful is my goal-- and that makes me happy, too! A recent project was helping a client transition from one type of job into a new industry. Part of the process was determining his current skill and talent base and how those abilities could apply to a new career.
