About this pro
Curt was hired to install a window well drain and he was scheduled to arrive on 1/24/2017; however I received a courtesy email (which I greatly appreciated) from him that morning that he was ill and would come on Monday 1/27/2017. Curt came and began the job and completed it in the same day. The only thing that went wrong was he forgot to take the photos of the work like I had asked. We have not had a problem at this time and if we do he stated that he would come back. Would I hire him again? 95% sure I will. Doris Perna WaukeganFeb 3, 2017VerifiedCurtis Z.'s reply

I'm glad I could help you out there Chris! Thanks for being my first Thumbtack customer.
I requested a repair on a water heater in a rental unit we own. He recommended that changed the fuel igniter. Its a $67 part and he called me while he was at the store to purchase. He wanted me to pay for it because he didn't have the $ to cover it. I obliged. He installed the part and one day later the tenant advised we are still having problems with the pilot going out on the gas water heater. Per Curt's recommendation, I purchased a new water heater from Home Depot and he would pick it up form there and install it the next day. Here we are 3 days later and no call or reply from Curt to my messages. I have hired another pro to do the install.Jan 28, 2017VerifiedCurtis Z.'s reply
Curt did a great job! Showed up for an estimate on football sunday had work finished by Monday! Communications were awesome. I wasn't home while he did the work but updates via text and sent pictures the damage and repairs the whole time. When I made it home he was cleaning and packing up. Not to mention great price!Jan 23, 2017VerifiedCurtis Z.'s reply

Curt handled everything in one day with no problems: Remove 4 used Kohler toilets and transport them to the new home Remove 3 new toilets and transport them to the old house Install 7 toilets, 3 Kohlers in the new home and 4 in the old house Swap InSinkErator disposals between kitchens (Our good one for the cheap contractor one) Remove existing cheap sump pump and install two new Ion battery back-up system sump pumps Remove existing kitchen sink faucet and install a new Grohe faucet Install RO system faucet and Grohe soap dispenser at kitchen sink If you need a plumber who knows how to get things done, I would recommend you give Curt a call. It's now a year later and everything has been fine.Jan 20, 2017Curtis Z.'s reply

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I usually charge by the job. I do not charge for travel, so I'm good all over Northern Illinois. I give rough estimates on the phone which are usually dead on the money when I get to a customers house.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Same as all. I try to do right by all customers. I can say that I am easy going and friendly, so you will not be having the typical cranky plumber experience. ;)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have do plumbing service work with high volume shops since 1991. My sheer number of jobs completed, in all aspects, gives me the experience most plumbers will never get.
