Introduction: I have been playing music for 17 years. I graduated from Saint Edward's University in 2015 with a major in International Business and a minor in music. I played in the university jazz and mariachi ensembles throughout my time there. I have been teaching guitar, ukulele, and bass for two years, and I have an original rock band called the Council of Strangers. I use a well rounded approach that incorporates technique and theory with the music my students want to play. I enjoy teaching a variety of styles: rock, jazz, classical, blues, country, Latin etc.
I get to show people how to do my favorite thing. It's extremely rewarding to see people improve their playing and understanding of music. I also think it is vitally important to know how to play a real instrument in this day and age of electronic music.
