FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Payment, in the form of cash, check or credit card, is due at the time of each visit. We are not contracted with any insurance companies. However, the payments you make may be reimbursable by your insurance company under your out-of-network physical therapy benefits; the exact percentage depends upon your plan. Due to the complex nature of insurance claims and reimbursement, we make no promises as to whether you will receive reimbursement. We do not accept insurance because many times insurance reimbursement is poor and inconsistent. We provide quality and consistent 1-on-1 care without the influence of insurance policies on our business practices. We typically see clients 1x/week in contrast to the 2-3x/wk at many clinics, because I am able to make a big impact during each of our sessions. Considering today's high co-payments, Latitude Physiotherapy is a great value, and also very competitive with other cash pay practices in Austin, TX. It is their vision to be the worldwide reference in the prevention of running injuries, by promoting the best practices related to runners’ health. Since adopting their principles, Chris’ satisfaction, performance, and happiness as a runner have improved dramatically. Chris is a former D1 Cross-Country and Track athlete and has been a competitive runner since middle school. For nearly a decade he has integrated minimalist footwear into his routine. Through personal experience, continuing education, and in working with others he has gained a thorough understanding of the impairments that keep many people from meeting their full potential with running. Let’s meet your running goals together! In your first visit, you will receive a thorough evaluation of the lower extremities, and we will initiate treatment of lower limb dysfunction. In subsequent visits, we will advance treatment and formulate a plan and training regimen to help you reach your goals with running. Therapeutic Exercise Training – $75: Learn how to get stronger, build muscle and become more balanced with only your bodyweight and minimal implements. Principles taught in our training regimen are born out of gymnastics, martial arts, and yoga and are backed by the knowledge of a trained physiotherapist. Your first day will include a movement screen wherein we will identify key weakness and dysfunction as well as teach you foundational movements aimed at improving them. Subsequent training sessions will be at our business or off-site in a local park. 1-on-1 or 2-on-1 sessions. Bring a friend for $60 per person for each session.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before initiating treatment you will need a prescription for Physical Therapy from a Chiropractor, Physician, Dentist or Podiatrist. If you don't have a prescription, we can first perform an evaluation only, and then proceed with treatment once a prescription is acquired. *Please ask for further details. A new client will first be interviewed for a thorough understanding of the circumstances of your injury or complaint. The following physical evaluation will help us determine the most pertinent impairments to your dysfunction. We will then address those impairments with hands-on techniques, and finally, re-educate the body with movement. Both Initial Evaluation and Follow-Ups are 1-on-1 60-minute sessions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Santa Clara University in 2008 with a B.S. in Combined Sciences and Minor in Spanish Studies. For 3 years I worked for Olympic Physical Therapy in Seattle, WA learning from one of the most ambitious groups of PTs I have ever met. Since then I have been able to build upon the unique concepts I learned there, and I still apply them today. In 2014 I graduated with Honors from the University of St. Augustine, here in Austin, TX. Our program is strong in orthopedics and manual therapy, thus building on my passion for hands-on-treatment. Since graduating my experience has been mostly in orthopedics and last year I completed my certification in Dry Needling. Other skills I have picked up along the way include IASTM, myofascial release, and cupping. Continuing education for runners has also helped me provide better treatment for this population.
