Introduction: I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and have used the practice to heal myself of both physical and emotional ailments.
I completed my first teacher training in Mysore, India in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and my second training under the tutelage of renowned teacher and BKS Iyengar student Eddie Modestini.
When targeted towards the individual's specific physical and emotional needs, a yoga practice can heal us of our most painful patterns. But it requires sustained individual effort. The culture of modern yoga in America has too often not been geared towards helping individuals truly learn yoga, so that they are able to take the practice into their own hands. A private lesson bridges this gap by offering individualized attention and support so the student feels confident to continue practicing at home.
In addition to healing our bodies and minds, a daily yoga practice offers us time and space to step out of the external world and go on an internal journey, to retreat to a peaceful environment and greet our higher selves each and every day. A consistent practice gives us the discipline and tools we need to handle our day-to-day lives and responsibilities with clarity and grace.
