- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices generally include delivery, setup and breakdown. If a live music or speaking event where a sound person is needed that is also included. I am usually flexible w the price, but please understand that my prices are already far below the big rental houses in NYC and I offer better, more personal service. If you are a charity or the event is for charitable purpose let me know, I will work with you. If you are the performer/band/DJ and have been asked to hire your own sound person I will take that into consideration as well. Travel, esp outside NYC will probably be extra, as well as any circumstances such as having to carry gear up 5 flights of stairs to the roof.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always like to speak with the client in person if possible, or at least on the phone. I find this to be quicker and more relaxed than email or text conversations, and we can get to know each other and fill in details we might otherwise miss. That being said it helps to get an email with all the relevant information (place, date, begin & end times, type of event, band/DJ/spoken word/Ipod and size of venue/audience. That way we can get the conversation off to a good start.
