FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically, my rate varies depending on the project. For a short term job, I can work within a flat rate (includes an initial consultation, rough cut, round of notes, final cut, and delivery) or on a daily/weekly basis that is customized to the needs of the client. For longer term or on-going projects, I am certainly negotiable within the budget set for post production.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with customers ranging from large production companies in the entertainment industry to individuals looking to put together a reel, or independent film projects. In addition, I also have acted as an independent consultant, helping clients analyze their media for issues such as maintaining broadcast and title safe standards, audio stabilization, and codec conversion methods.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise a client to work with an editor that can understand the needs of the project in the initial stages of consultation. I always find communicating on this level helps to develop trust and confidence that makes for an enjoyable working relationship. Also, do not be afraid to convey your overall expectations. Whether you're on a tight deadline, working from a set budget or following a specific template - it's okay to mention these things without worry. The right editor will understand the terms of the project; and clearly embrace your creative direction, offering suggestions in developing it to your standards.
