Introduction: I'm heavily involved in the North Carolina music scene. I network with people every day in order to get my own music across different audiences and I even help out my friends with their own music with the same care as my own work. I love helping other artists pursue what they want to achieve even if that means completing one individual step at a time.

I run an independent art-punk label in North Carolina called Commodity Fetish Records (commodityfetishrecords.com). Brenden did the mixing for MARLA's first release on the label and he did an excellent job. He captured the punk roots of the band with what I call a "concise low-fi" production style. Low-fi because the production quality represents the band's garage-y sensisibility but "concise" because everything that needs to be heard can be heard clearly. The vocals sing out melodically and stand out from the rest of the mix. A great example is track 5 of the album, panorama, where the instrumental mix charges the track with power even as the vocal cut through audibly. Brenden managed to balance the need for clarity with maintaining the grit of an underground band. I would recommend him to anyone needing a mixer/producer, particularly if you work in an art/punk/underground style of music.
