Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have been teaching ESL in academic and business settings and as a tutor for private students for many years. I am a retired ESL professor from University of North Carolina at Charlotte with 34+ years experience teaching all aspects of ESL (reading, writing, grammar, listening, speaking, pronunciation), as well as TOEFL and IELTS test preparation. I have also published two ESL textbooks, based on improving students' speaking and listening skills. I have recently returned to UNCC to teach ESL in short intensive programs for students from Japan, China, and Korea. I have two Masters Degrees: one in Teaching English as a Second Language from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and another in English from the University of South Carolina. I love meeting and teaching students from other cultures and teaching ESL in various settings: academic, business, and social. I enjoy helping students face their language challenges and gain skills and confidence in their language abilities. Seeing my students' progress in their language proficiency gives me a great feeling of satisfaction. When they succeed, I feel I succeed!

Allie is an excellent teacher with a lot of experience .I love her personality which ,I think,is very important when you take a privet lessons. She directed me to the areas where I need most improvement in. She helped me with my grammar and vocabulary, pronunciation and writing. She will catch every mistake and error you make and explain and work on it and correct it. She is always well prepered for a lesson-a plan , printed material, books included. She will direct your attention to the arrears where you need to improve you English by homework to do after every meeting. Allie is very professional , nice and friendly , flexible in scheduling the time of a meeting , highly recommended teacher. She will rise your confidence in speaking English as a second language . Allie thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it. PS. It is possible that I made an error in my writing above! Lol

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I require a minimum tutorial session of 1.5 hours. I feel that is the minimum amount of time to get the most benefit from a one-on-one ESL session.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I have various diagnostic tools to assess your language ability, so if you are in doubt about your level or ability, we can start there and proceed to find what areas you need to work on.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have two Masters Degrees: one in Teaching English as a Second Language from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and another in English from the University of South Carolina. I have done lots of ESL teacher-training for teachers from may countries. I have published two ESL textbooks: Say It Naturally: Verbal Strategies for Authentic Communication (Levels 1 and 2)
