We also specialize in sports performance work, from adolescents, to collegiate and professional athletes. Several members of our staff have strong records of working with the general public for weight loss and toning goals. Despite the wide range of specialties, the unifying thread amongst our staff is a universal language and vision of movement. At the heart of it all though is a commitment to prioritizing our clients. My daughter is a cross country and track runner. She has been going to Breakthrough for about a year and a half. I brought her to Breakthrough because she was experiencing bursitis in her hip. Breakthrough was able to tell that her hips were out of line due to compensating from the pain. They worked with her to strengthen and balance her hips and back. After the first visit, she was in considerably less pain. She currently works out with Dru. She likes that Dru and the other trainers explain why she is doing the exercises she is doing. They are very thorough in the training, from the proper way to breathe all the way through executing the specific exercise. I highly recommend Breakthrough and Dru. You will not be disappointed!

People ask me what gym I attend, and I never know how to answer. Breakthrough is not simply a gym, it's not simply a training facility. It's a place where fitness equals total body wellness. When I workout at Breakthrough, we don't​ just lift weights, all movement within the exercises strengthens joints, ligaments, etc. I have issues with my knees. When I'm working out consistently at Breakthrough, I regain full and pain free movement in my knees. There is a heightened focus on form... On every exercise, there is a constant check on form. In this way, I've learned to engage the right muscles and I've even learned how to tell when something is out of alignment. If I can't keep the right form, then I know I need to put more focus on the week area.... So to my point... Body wellness, not just fitness. I tried 4 trainers before finding Breakthrough including one at Mercy health and I've never met anyone as knowledgeable as Josh on how the body operates. The trainers are all so upbeat.. so working out becomes fun, engaging and my way to forget about the work day.

Breakthrough has changed my life. I have learned an incredible amount about movement and health from both Josh and Shauna. Before working out at Breakthrough I was having daily back pain that severely impacted my life. After working out with Josh and Shauna and having them show me how the body is supposed to move my back pain has completely subsided and my quality of life greatly improved. The movements they teach are based on how we are supposed to move and mirror movements that our ancestors would have made on daily basis. Josh has told me that hunter gatherer tribes like the San in Africa never have back problems because they move properly and he and Shauna have taught me those movements. I did PT for years, but in one month Josh and Shauna fixed my back and improved my quality of life and overall health. To me they are miracle workers!

Breakthrough is the best and highest quality training facility I have ever seen. I have had the privilege of training with Josh Hostetler at Breakthrough for just over 2 years and it has changed my life in countless positive ways. I feel better and move better than I have in years. With Josh's outstanding coaching, I have seen significant improvements in running, biking, swimming and skiing performance, balance and posture. I have also had the privilege of attending several workshops at Breakthrough led by world-renowned trainer and movement specialist, Will Chung, who maintains an integral presence at Breakthrough. The techniques and principals taught at Breakthrough focus on finding and maintaining a strong and stable center, connection from head to toe and expanding dimensions in movement. These techniques are unique and incredibly effective in addressing injuries, improving performance and regaining functional movement. I look forward to every session at Breakthrough. Each session is extremely challenging and always changing. Body weight drills are made incredibly difficult and complex with intense attention to detail. Josh, Shauna and Dru are exceptionally caring, enthusiastic and dedicated trainers, who deeply connect with their clients. The quality of the coaching and the results achieved at Breakthrough are outstanding.
