Introduction: I am a 21-one-year veteran of the health and fitness field. I was listed as one of the top 100 U.S. personal trainers by Men's Journal magazine in 2004 and 2005 and by Allure Magazine in 2008, in addition to being named one of the top trainers in Dallas from 2003-2010 by D Magazine. I began my career in fitness working in physical therapy and in orthopedic and sports medicine facilities. Since then, I have become an international level lecturer for the Cooper Institute of Aerobic Research teaching education courses such as Biomechanics of Strength Training, Personal Fitness Specialist and the Optimal Performance Training course. I have also been invited to lecture for top organizations such as IDEA, ECA, YPO and ALTRUSA. In 2013, I was invited to become a member of the Dymatize Nutrition Sport Performance Institute Advisory Board, a professional team of university team researchers and practitioners in the area of exercise, nutrition and optimal performance. Throughout the duration of my career, I have helped numerous clients with various orthopedic and fitness related backgrounds ranging from professional athletes such as NFL Hall of Fame inductee, Troy Aikman; Stanley Cup Champion NHL player, Jason Arnott; and PGA golfer, Brian Watts to everyday clients who are simply looking to improve daily function and achieve their health and fitness goals. It has always been my life's passion to understand the human body and its function. Applying that passion to the individualized exercise prescription that I create for each of my clients is my formula to yielding results. Every client I have had the privilege of working with understands that I will never compromise the integrity of your joints to achieve any individual goal.

Jason Harnden is an extraordinary physical trainer of tremendous versatility, intelligence and discipline—and he’s a lot of fun. I have been working out with Jason for almost two decades—dating back to the days when aerobics was popular and the Premier Club was, too! He is healthy and strong—the perfect role model. His attitude is inspiring and his knowledge exceptional. Jason is a tremendous coach. He pushes me to push myself—to do things I would never choose to do on my own. He’s a prince of a guy—literally the nicest man in the world. We share a love for heavy metal music in the gym—ACDC is at the top of our playlist currently. No pop music. And he has the most impressive athletic shoe collection on the planet. I respect him because I walk out of his sessions with wobbly legs; abs and arms on fire. But I love him because he knows that—in moderation—there will always be a place for a chocolate chip cookie and a margarita in a healthy lifestyle. Shortly after my wife Dina and I had moved to Dallas from New Jersey in 2001, she began training with Jason Harnden. I was introduced to Jason in 2003, and we began a training regimen. In 2004 there was a lockout in the NHL, and the entire 2004-2005 season was lost. I began an extremely rigorous resistance training and conditioning program that enlisted the expertise of a number of the country’s best athletic/performance based professionals in the industry. During this time I achieved the absolute pinnacle of performance in my 18 year career in the NHL. The year we returned to play, which was a contract year for me with the Dallas Stars, I had the best point total, tied for highest assists, and the second highest number of goals scored, in my entire NHL career. It’s a good thing all that hard work paid off, because unbeknownst to me Jason had done an interview with TSN on the topic of what NHL players were doing to stay in game shape during the lockout. Jason went on record saying, “Jason Arnott will be in the best shape of his career, and he should have a banner year”. Well, we made that happen! I ended an 18-year career in the NHL in November of 2013. Jason has helped me through this tremendous fitness/health paradigm shift. Jason designed a new gym in our home to suit my entire family’s needs for the present and the future. My personal goals have changed dramatically, and Jason has made my programs evolve to better serve my current wants and needs both functionally and aesthetically. I recently had a total knee replacement and Jason played an integral part in both preparing for the procedure, and the rehab process thereafter. I’m proud to say that just months later I was in California with my family surfing and hiking! I also entrust Jason to work with my son as well. Jason is a true professional in every sense of the word, but he is also a fun guy, and now a trusted family friend. I would highly recommend him and his services! -Jason Arnott

Jason has been training our family for the past 5 years. He is amazing !!! He is so knowledgable. Many trainers just want to 'train you' and move on to the next person. Not Jason, he is invested in every client. He takes the time to individualize each workout depending on the need of the client When our 14 year old was ready to start training, the only trainer I would allow him to train with was Jason. I knew Jason would train him with specific exercises for his age and body. He also has taught my sons, especially, what excerxises/ weight lifting they should and should not do to help prevent injury. The training and education Jason gives to each client is invaluable.

I started training with Jason in August 2014 after a back injury left me with chronic pain and significant muscle atrophy. I’ve always been active, whether running, playing tennis or practicing yoga and Pilates, but had never worked with a trainer. My husband, who has had amazing results with Jason rehabilitating a shoulder injury, referred me to him and in the 15 months that I’ve trained with Jason, I’ve made tremendous strides. I am stronger than I was before my injury and my daily life has improved significantly. I am able to do simple things, like lifting groceries out of my car, without pain; something that I feared I would never achieve after the injury. Jason has tremendous knowledge of musculature and has tailored my workouts to help me recover and to reach my fitness goals. This summer he worked with our 13-year-old son on conditioning and proper technique to prepare him for middle school athletics. I trust Jason’s methods and have been truly impressed with the results! I also have to say that Jason is an all-around great guy; he is smart and funny and a true professional.

Having been a college athlete, I thought I knew my way around a gym pretty well. But I thought it might be a good idea to try a few sessions with a trainer to see if there was anything new to know. That’s when I met Jason and a relationship that has spanned over a decade began. In my first few sessions, I found that my ways were old and antiquated. With Jason’s knowledge in Kinesiology and body mechanics, I learned a whole new approach to working out. Jason was great about taking the time to explain why one exercise followed another and why a tweak in your form or technique made such a big difference in the work load. Also, to complicate things, I had a back issue called spondylolisthesis. Jason was very knowledgeable of what the condition entailed and devised a workout plan that actually helped the condition by strengthening my core and made certain we did nothing to exacerbate the situation. Working out with Jason also had the added benefit that it was a very efficient workout. It would take me at least an hour and a half to do the work I was doing with Jason in 55 minutes. He was able to push me way harder and further than I would ever been able to do on my own. And THAT, gets results. And, Jason always kept it fresh and fun. The proof Jason’s methods were working was in the results. Although neither was a focus, I lost approximately 22lbs. and, when tested, I benched more at the age of 40 than I ever did in my life, including college. I was stronger, leaner and lighter than at any other time in my adult life. I also was more the wise about how to approach my workouts from the things I learned from Jason. I would always tell Jason, ‘Man, I wish I had had access to someone like you when I was competing’. Having someone like Jason working you out would have made such a difference in my performance on the field. So when my two boys were old enough to start lifting weights, I introduced them to Jason as well. They started working out with him in preparation for football. I wanted someone knowledgeable working out with them so they wouldn’t get injured and learn the right ways to lift weights. Then, the boys started working out with Jason whenever they had time out of season from football and lacrosse, during the holidays and summers. Jason’s customized methods apparently worked for them too. With his workouts helping boost their performances, they both attracted the attention Division 1 schools and committed to play lacrosse before their Sophomore year of high school even started. My oldest is committed to UNC and my youngest is committed to Michigan. They will both continue to work out with Jason throughout their high school and college careers as much as time will allow. I highly recommend working out with Jason Harnden for a fun and efficient workout, knowing that with a little time and dedication, the results you seek will be right around the corner.
