Introduction: As the director of professional dance company Control Group Productions, I offer private and group instruction in: –Contemporary Dance –Modern Dance –Ballet (beginner to intermediate) –Dance Improvisation –Partnering –Choreography (classes and coaching) –New Repertory ABOUT THE COMPANY: Control Group stands at the forefront of innovation in Colorado's contemporary dance scene. Our professional ensemble presents wholly unique performance creations across the Front Range, often outside of traditional theaters. Our education activities span youth to adult and beginner to professional offerings in a variety of techniques. I love the art and athletics of movement – the combination of finesse and power that take the body beyond what we think is possible. My teaching focuses on honing fundamental coordinations and performance skills that apply to all types of dance. We work on accessing smooth flow and explosive momentum within the form of specific dance techniques, building toward a versatile virtuosity. I approach teaching as a combination of traditional dance teaching using set sequences and combinations, and personal coaching that focuses on each individuals' needs, interests, and abilities. I particularly enjoy creating new performance works and coaching students in their own choreographic works.
