FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I work with my clients, I get down to what they specifically want from our time together. I do not believe in pushing any sort of material or technique that they do not have interest in. I like to explore a starting point and end goal, and run my sessions based on how the client is feeling and running off those "breakthrough" moments. I believe in allowing the client to take the reigns on where they want the session to go for that day. If one day you want to practice songs/harmonies, and the next you want to sit down and brainstorm stage etiquette, artist branding, promotion, etc, I'm happy to follow those motions of your learning.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my double major at University of Colorado Denver for Music Business and Vocal Performance. My time at UCD I took courses such as Vocal Pedagogy, Music Theory, Ear Training, Jazz Improv, A cappella, Music Business, Concert Promotion, Artist Development, and more. While in school, I was a part of a world renowned award winning a cappella group called Mix. We traveled around the world performing and competing. As well as being a part of my own personal projects and cover bands performing around Colorado. I have been teaching at a studio for over a year and been studying teaching voice along the way.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After college, I sought out teaching voice lessons in part with teaching stage performance. I ran trial lessons on friends and did reading a research on vocal pedagogy. I started teaching out of a studio after reaching out to some voice teachers in the area. I quickly was hired at Performance High where I gained my footing in teaching and grew passionate for passing knowledge along to hungry singers!
