- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $30 for half an hour lessons, $40 for 45 minute lessons & $50 for hour lessons.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new student, the first lesson is usually a "get to know you" kind of thing. I evaluate to see what the student already knows, what they need to learn, and how fast they learn because some students grasp concepts faster than others. If it is a student that has never had musical experience before, then I start from the very beginning. If it is a student who has had musical experience before, then I just pick up where they left off. I won't give a student more than they can handle, but I encourage all of my students to do their best and that mistakes are ok to make. That's how we learn and get better.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In total, I have studied music for 22 years. I was a part of Band & Chorus as well as studied privately during elementary school. I was a part of music magnet programs during middle and high school & majored in music in college. I have been teaching music for 4 years now.
