Goal(s) of golf lessons
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Christopher Westerdahl is from the small town of Coldspring, TX and obtained his Professional Golf Management degree at Sam Houston State University. Chris has taught at many prestigious clubs across the US and was fortunate to shadow under many Top 100 teaching professionals. This allowed him to get many different perspectives on the golf swing which helped shape his teaching philosophy. Chris has taught over 10,000 golf lessons to golfers of all abilities ranging from beginner to scratch. Chris is a Class A member of the PGA and is certified in Eyeline Putting and Dr. Kwons Biomechanics. Chris states that: “My philosophy for golf is pretty simple. I don’t believe in a “text book” golf swing that fits all players. Rather, everyone has their own unique way of swinging the club that will produce the best results for them. I like to look at important fundamentals such as where a player is striking the ground with their club, where on the club face they are striking the ball, and if they’re hitting the ball far enough to play the game effectively. I like to see these three things accomplished while the golfer maintains balance and tempo in their swing. I enjoy helping golfers get better and watching them succeed on the golf course.

Chris is a professional...full stop. YES, he was able to take my average game to a level beyond my wildest expectations. YES, he was calm, patient and skillful. YES, he possesses an ability to hone in and correct swing flaws with laser focused attention. YES, he’s a mind reader when it comes to the mental game of golf. But Chris is just an all around great guy. He’s a positive role model for all ages groups including elderly guys like me. It’s a privilege to call him my instructor and friend.

I have worked with Chris for about 8 months and have seen positive results in my golf game. Chris provides a long term approach to improving my golf game through sound fundamentals of swing mechanics, short game improvement, and strategies in course management. I would recommend Chris to anyone who wants to improve their skills and enjoy playing their best golf.

I've been working with Chris over the last year. We've focused on a plan that allowed me to move from a 10 handicap down to 5.5. Much of the improvement happened through a building block approach beginning with grip, swing path, and using my core. But the key that sets him apart is that he is an exceptional communicator. He truly wants to make sure you understand and can retain his messages. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn how to play golf the rest of their life!
