Introduction: I have nine years of experience teaching percussion in the Kansas City area. In 2013, I graduated from the UMKC Conservatory with a Bachelor's Degree in Percussion Performance. I teach drumline and percussion ensemble at Shawnee Mission South high school, and am the Assistant Director of the Kansas City Youth Percussion Ensemble. In addition to teaching, I play about 80 shows per year with the Mikey Needleman Band (mnband.com) and do extensive freelance work throughout the Kansas City Area.
Each student has their own individual lesson plan that is catered to their personal needs and goals. I offer a total percussion curriculum (snare drum, mallets, drum set, and timpani). Rather than having to study with multiple teachers, students can receive a well-rounded education at my studio. I have prepared students for concert band, marching band, jazz band, district/all state band auditions, district/state solo & ensemble competitions, and much more.
I love seeing my students gain confidence in themselves by getting better at drums.
