- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first lesson is more of getting to know you, and you getting to know me. I want to see what level your playing is at, but I also want to make sure you are comfortable with me, whether in my studio or your house. After assessing your playing level, and what goals in music you want to achieve, we can jump right into exercises or songs that fit accordingly. Most students are playing along to a song by the end of their first lesson!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music (Cal State Long Beach) with a degree in Percussion Performance, where I studied classical, jazz, and world music. I'm a freelance drummer/percussionist who has performed with artists such as Blue Man Group, Monobloco, and Sheila E. I have had the privilege of performing at events such as the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl, and Brazilian Carnaval at Club Nokia. I've also been teaching private lessons for the past 7 years.
