Introduction: A native of Russia, Evgenia Mott studied cello at the Nizhny Novgorod State Glinka Conservatory and the Kirov Musical College. She started her education at age of 6 and hold a Master degree in cello performance of Conservatory in Russia where she attended on full scholarship. Her principal cello teachers were Sofia Propischan, Lilia Lukyanenko, and Elena Selezeneva. Ms. Mott has also played for masterclasses for Christopher Mayer, Daniil Grishin, Nina Sanina, and Vladimir Tonha.
Evgenia has appeared as guest assistant principal cellist with the Miami Symphony Orchestra and third cellist in the South Florida Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Mott has also performed with the Chamber Orchestra in Nizhny Novgorod Russia, the Pushkin Opera and Ballet House Orchestra and the Kirov Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has performed solo recitals featuring standard classical repertoire in Russia as well as innovative contemporary projects. Ms. Mott is creator and leader of “Gran Volta” electronic string duo, a Cruise Line Headliner Act for Oceana Cruises. She was also the leader of a classical string quartet, trio, duo ”Gran Volta” for Celebrity Cruises. She has extensive experience performing string quartets from the standard repertoire. As well she has visited more then 70 countries and brought many music cultures into her music from the the world.
Mrs. Mott was awarded first prize at an international competition of ensemble and quartet music in Moscow in April 2010 and third prize at an International competition of quartets in Ukraine in April 2009.
Ms. Mott is passionate about teaching cello. She has taught cello in Nizhniy Novgorod and at the Kirov Music College in Russia.
As an expert in her field, raised on the strong Moscow technique school, Evgenia looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals.
Evgenia’s teaching style is positive, supportive, patient and constructive, focused on the individual student's needs, and enjoyable. Evgenia will teach the proper position, technique and how to improve your playing.
If you've never taken lessons before, we'll start with the fundamentals, how to hold the cello and how to read music. Evgenia will work at your pace and cares about each of her students.
In addition, Mrs. Mott has played electric cello, which has became very popular in Europe and United States, in the last decade performing a lot on stages and traveling with her own show around the world, Evgenia created her own way to adjust and perfect skills and comfort while moving and dancing with cello. Evgenia can teach you fundamentals of playing on electric cello where you can stand, move and play at the same time. Evgenia will teach you fun popular songs which can become beautiful surprise to your family, friends or just for your fun time.
