- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$28/30 min lesson. Discount for full hour lessons. Lessons and schedule are made and paid for on a monthly basis.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually do a trial lesson (same price as a normal lesson) without the commitment of signing up for a full month. First lesson is introduction, setting up instrument, and assessing skill level. Parents and guests are always welcome to sit in on a lesson as long as it is not distracting.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a teacher's assistant for 2 years with Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) Progressions program aimed towards beginners grades 3-5. At Lawrence University I took cello pedogogy and psychology of learning. I completed 20 hours of practicum for each class in private lesson environment of early childhood private lessons, intermediate string lessons and advanced saxophone lessons. I was a student teacher at the Lawrence Academy of Music for two years. I have a bachelor's of Music degree in cello performance from Lawrence University. I have 3 years experience teaching group beginner classes at a local Waldorf school, and have been teaching privately in Minneapolis since 2014.
