- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin by putting my clients through a series of movements so I can assess how well they move. I then design an appropriate exercise plan based on any imbalances and weakness I view during their initial screening.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a lifetime athlete I had always viewed exercise as something I thoroughly enjoyed. When I was making my decisions as to where to go to college and what to major in, Exercise Science seemed to be a perfect fit. My sophomore year of college I had the opportunity to intern as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at a health and performance center and I fell in love with training. I have been working in the fitness industry ever since.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have had the opportunity to work with people of all age and ability ranges. I have worked with clients who have both physical and mental disabilities as well as clients who are elite athletes. I have trained and coached children as young as 3, adults in their mid 80's, and everyone in between.
