    After putting in hardwood floors throughout my house I needed help organizing my home office along with everything else that had been displaced with the flooring change. Lisa talked with me about my goals, vision, scope of the project and timeline. She quickly send me an estimate and we began working on my home office. She was so wonderful to work with that we then went on to my laundry room/pantry, craft room/sewing room, upstairs game room, master closet and garage. She helped me design a master closet renovation that has been completed. Lisa is professional, efficient, punctual, honest, reliable and very good at what she does. Once we finished organizing my house I missed having her over in my home. I highly recommend Lisa for all your organizing needs.


What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The initial consultation is free of charge. Following the initial consultation, each organizing session is $50 per hour with a 3 hour minimum.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The Process / The Consult - During the initial consultation, the Clean Slate consultant will assess the client needs, inspect the focus areas and discuss the design features. The consultant will discuss the process, expectations and anticipated results. The consultation is free of charge and will last approximately 30-45 minutes. The Purge - The Clean Slate consultant will work together with the client to assess all items. Items to be given to charity or discarded will be prepared for removal. The consultant and client will determine the best use for the space. The Placement - The focus area will be prepared for use. This may include cleaning or installing shelving or other storage support. All items will be placed into selected storage containers. Please note – this process many require the purchase of storage containers. The client may choose to purchase items on their own or with the consultant. The consultant may purchase storage items for the client as well. Organizing sessions will be charged on an hourly basis, with a two-hour minimum. Projects may require multiple sessions. Between sessions, the client may have “homework” to prepare for the next organizing session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
About Clean Slate Clean Slate is owned and operated by Lisa Hettinger. A native Californian, Lisa is excited to share her home organization system with her new Texas friends. Over the last several years, Lisa has enjoyed sharing her love of organization both in community workshops and in many homes and offices. Her system has proven successful in many settings, both residential and commercial. Lisa hails from an event planning and fundraising background where she had the opportunity to work for non-profits in the educational, athletic and community services arenas. Her most recent experience was providing support for homeless families in San Diego County where she was on the team that raised over 10 million annually in support of these families. Lisa's experience as an event planner, fundraiser, volunteer coordinator and community outreach speaker has provided her with the skills necessary to facilitate large projects and bring them to a successful completion. Lisa is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) National as well as NAPO Houston Chapter. Lisa is also a member of the Board of Directors for NAPO Houston. Lisa also holds professional designations as a Residential Organizing Specialist and Workplace Productivity Specialist.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The de-cluttering and organization process is very personal and can be emotionally challenging. Select an organizer with whom you can feel comfortable sharing your life and who will respect you and your possessions.
