FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer discounts for students and double sessions (1.5 hours instead of 45min). Price per person drops as more people take one session together.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I hear what they want out of the sessions. It’s important to work around the client’s goals. Do you want to feel confident in the social dance floor? At a wedding? Do you want a fun hobby? More awareness of your body? If the client is new to salsa, I'll start by showing them how the music and basic steps come together. If they already have some foundation, I'll dance with them to assess their level and give my own recommendations based on what they want and where I know I can get them. Then we can discuss how frequent they want to meet to reach their goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained for over 4 years in Puerto Rico, including 2 years with world champion Bruno Rodriguez. I have been teaching and training since 2013 in the Bay Area. Recent training includes Afro movements and on2 salsa with Afinkao Dance Co., 1st place team college championship with on1 salsa choreo by world champion Danny Zepeda, and contemporary + afro movements with New York choreographer Sekou McMiller. I also have some hip-hop training and experience choreographing beginner hip-hop pieces, and ladies styling pieces.
