Introduction: Learning to sing is a unique experience for everyone. It’s the only instrument that literally lives inside our bodies. We, as singers, have the pleasure of digging deep within ourselves to become fully aware of how our bodies move, breathe, and feel. I carry my instrument with me everywhere I go. So when I'm angry, or sad, or happy, those emotions are felt and expressed through my voice. Ever feel 'choked up'? That's your body responding to that adorable kitten video you saw on YouTube! When I sing every day, I discover new things about how my body works. Singing can be fun, cathartic, or even energizing! I am a strong believer that everyone can and should sing. Not only because of the scientific evidence that singing every day is good for the body and mind, but also because of my personal experience in witnessing my students' ability and self-esteem consistently rise. Singing has benefited my life in so many ways. It is an honor to share my passion with others.
