About this pro
I have over a decade of teaching experience, and provide a fun and engaging lesson experience. I work well with both beginners and advanced students, especially those looking to develop creatively or conceptually. Overall, my main approach as a teacher is to provide you with clear, well-structured goals that lead naturally to progression, and to nurture your natural urge to grow as a musician. Like most good teachers, I will organize my lessons around your specific interests and abilities. At the same time, I will make a concerted effort to address any shortcomings that I see in your playing or approach. Often, developing a few targeted exercises, or simply reframing your approach to practice are all that is needed to launch your playing to the next level. So much of our identities are tied to our skills and passions. For me, playing the guitar has always been both. I enjoy the journey of learning to play, and my greatest joy as a teacher is being a partner to that journey for my students. Seeing as students reach new heights and realize themselves as musicians is infinitely rewarding, and something I will always take pride in.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Please see our website, pvdguitar.mymusicstaff.com/Lessons for all the relevant details.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I always start by evaluating a new student's previous playing experience, ability level, and personal goals. From there, I tailor the lessons to help them move steadily towards their goals and address any bigger issues that may be holding them back.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have over 10 years of experience as a full-time guitar instructor working with students of all ages, ability levels, interests, and goals. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 with a B.A. in Jazz Studies for guitar and the URI Award for Musical Excellence.
