Music Lessons with Elyjah

Introduction: Truth Love and Light, My name is Elyjah and I am honored to have you learn more about my music lessons. I have been on stage performing since I was 7 years old singing in a large gospel church in San Jose, California. As I grew older I took lessons for piano, keyboards, organ, drums and guitar and began writing over 100 songs by the time I was 16. I received a scholarship to join the music program at Saint Mary's College of California where I doubled majored in Music and Communication. While I was there I studied piano, drums, and voice as my main focuses. My ability to meet you where you are and set goals that you want to accomplish is what sets me apart from your average teacher. I'm not one of those teachers who will push sight reading on you if you do not want to learn sight reading. The goal is to get you familiar with your instrument so you can start to teach yourself what you want to learn. My main goal is to lay a foundation of understanding so you can create consistent practice habits and develop a love for your instrument. Throughout my career I have taught over 120 students ranging from ages (K-12) up to adults. I also have a long experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities. It brings me great joy to see victories won little by little through each lesson and sessions together. Music is such a powerful tool to help heal the world and understand yourself.
